I'm hoping for a rematch of last year's GF with the Cats.
We know we can match them but I have some doubts about whether we can do the same against Collingwood and I also couldn't bear to lose a flag against them. Luke Ball would just add more salt to that wound.
Some other thoughts...Collingwood is more or less at full strength and Swan is near unstoppable at the moment...whilst Geelong will have had 3 weeks of tough finals footy compared to the Pies having a rest.

Did we win in your dream SainterK?SainterK wrote:I had a dream about playing the pies in the GF, posted it on here a few months back....will bump it if it happens, saw the scoreline and everything, may of been a vision
Would have been a nightmare otherwise...
What was the score?

Oh we won, Collingwood kicked 2 18 30, it was so clear, I typed it up here that morning so I wouldn't forgetsaintnick12 wrote:Did we win in your dream SainterK?SainterK wrote:I had a dream about playing the pies in the GF, posted it on here a few months back....will bump it if it happens, saw the scoreline and everything, may of been a vision

Actually would like to see Geelong win tomorrow night unscathed, and as i said in another blog, have a tough hard, overtime extended game against Pies.
Basically, which ever wins are basically spent and fade badly in the 2nd half of the GF against us.

Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.

Maybe so about the strength, but they can produce the run! I don't think tonight will be as clear-cut as the odds make out to be. In fact, I'm going to go get me some of that $7 on the Dockers! I'm amazed, as an unknown, that they are out that far in the betting woods!Moccha wrote:Freo haven't a chance in hell of beating the Cats. Freo have one really big thing going for them.
They have absolutely nothing to lose.
When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

Were we to play Geelong and lose, we'd all think we should have seen it coming, as we were unlikely to beat them 3 times in one season, and we'd wish we'd played Collingwood.
Were we to play Collingwood and lose, we'd all think we should have seen it coming after what happened last time we played them, and we'd be convinced that we would have beaten Geelong because we had the wood on them.

Nothing would bring more pleasure to 90% of football fans across the country to do that. If we play the 'Pies, every supporter of every other club will be on our side.splud wrote:Call me sentimental, but NOTHING would bring as much pleasure to this ol' Sainter's heart than to see the Mighty Saints beat Collingwood in a Grand Final....again...

This is what I am hoping for, with every ounce of my being.3rd generation saint wrote:Actually would like to see Geelong win tomorrow night unscathed, and as i said in another blog, have a tough hard, overtime extended game against Pies.

A couple of suspensions for the winner would also be appreciated.
Life is very short and there's no time for fussing and fighting my friends.
I think I would prefer to play Geelong for the following reasons.
1) Revenge
2) We seem to match up pretty well against them
3) I think that the hurt from last year will be magnified if we played Geelong. I believe the team is more likely to turn up to really play and they won't let anything stop them beting Geelong. I think from an emotional perspective the players would be more fired up on gameday to beat Geelong.
