if you dont tick standing and thats all thats left you get squat

if you do a group booking of 10 and only 7 seats are left and you havent ticked standing you get squat

large bookings get no pref, why should they?
if that would be the case everyone would form a group lol

i get one ticket therefore probability would say i have more chance of getting a seat compared to a family of 4 or a group of ten

you reg, you get picked out of the hat if you chose accept all tickets when you registered your number and there is no prem left you go to prime if theres ten of you and theres only 4 prime tickets left then you go to standard etc etc

there is no favors for longer members, groups, age, etc
its the luck of the draw and how big a risk you want to take accepting standing room...or not

edit
and at anytime the afl can decide to drop the number of allocated tickets to each team (12500 each) so they can incorporate more corporate packages/seats and thus increasing the standing room numbers for members like us
say out of the 12500, 500 of they were standing...well if they want they can make the standing go to 1000 therefore decrease actual seats avl to members from 12000, to 11500....if they wanted to
Where did you get that info from, Matrix?

You can't book in a group of 10.

Since 1997, it has been a group of 8. The registration form clearly states 8.

Who said that it is random? Never heard that.

I booked with one friend last year just to make sure and another group booked a group of 8. We both got Premium seats.

This year I'm trying a group of 7. Like Maxstar I don't care where I am, and if I have to stand, so be it. However I certainly hope as a member in the first thousand at the club and a social club member for a very long time, that I can sit down. Just don't rain.
10 was an eg

f****** panic panic panic
everyone panics come finals time
all the numbers and percentages tried to be worked out to see how many peeps will be standing
when the afl can, at any time they wish, increase the standing and take seats off us

and it is random

you think its first in at 8am gets the best seats??? lol
it is random allocation, basically a name out of a hat
crickey we all went thru this last year
a 15 year social club member has as much chance as someone who has been a social club member for 1 year, in getting a seat, they also have the same chance as copping a standing ticket

God I hope we win on Saturday week and make it. Hope we get seats.
Picked the accept any ticket option. Can't take the risk of not being there.

Did you pick Priority 1 option or Priority 2??
Priority one/two refers to the type of membership you have - ie SC or Sept Saint. SC is priority one registration time is 8-3. Not sure about Sept saint.

Then once in there, the three options present - ie Accept best available ticket (including standing), OR, Accept best available seat (but if your registration comes up when no seats are left then you miss out), or the third option mobility.
I picked the first option as I don't want to risk not being there. At least now we understand the process a bit better based on some of the posts above and these seem to confirm the info I have heard too. As SC , to miss out on a seat you would be in the last 1000 or so pulled out. I know that happened to quite a lot of people last year. I am not prepared to take the risk of my ballot being one of the last to come out and then missing out all together. The club have made it very clear this year.
:D

Thanks did not want to muck up my chance of geting a GF ticket, thats if we make it of course!!

Here is the reply from the membership dept regarding chance of september saint getting a ticket

Hi Tom,

In regards to your email, there has been around 1000 members register as September Saint. I am unable to advise the chances of getting a ticket as a September Saint member as it will depend on how many of our Social Club members take up the offer to use their tickets.

If I can be of any further assistance please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards

So looks as if the 1000 number was right, would think theres a fairly decent chance of getting a ticket

Yep, I think last year the SC take-up rate was 93%.

I think it will be lower this year, let's say 90%:

90% of 11,500= 10,350

Leaving 1,150 tickets for September Saints...Surely this can't be right, because that would mean everyone will get a ticket!!

That makes perfect sense.
The Sep Saints window was only a week.
I think it was first in first served.
So they clearly did some modelling and figured that they would only need 1,000 or so Sept Saints to mop up the spare standing room and any remaining (prob singles) seats.

If that is the case, top work by the club to do that. Gives the members a real chance at going to the GF if they are keen enough.
Hope all sept saints get a ticket, standing room was fantastic last year..
