Go Dogs

Post: # 981878Post kosifantutti23 »

We probably have to beat the Pies at some stage so I'm not worried which side of the draw they are on.

But if they lose, we have the tantalising prospect at least for a week of the Pies going out in straight sets.

IF we went on to win the flag that would be the icing on our premiership cake.

Agree that it would be good to see the Pies drop out in straight sets but I'll actually be hoping they win tonight. I'd love to see the Pies and Cats absolutely belt each other up in the other preliminary. I'd rather knock them out of the big one personally.

Exactly.

I think that was part of our problem last year.
We had that super tight super tough Prelim against the dogs.
Whilst Collingwood (after their super tough comeback final against Adelaide the week before) meekly capitulated and allowed Geelong to cruise into the GF.
I reckon that made a difference to how we finished off the GF.

This year the boot will be on the other foot.
Hopefully we can get through a Prelim against Dogs/Shytney/Caarscum with plenty left in the tank whilst Coll/Geel play a bruising last man standing knockout which will hopefully impact their ability to stick with us in the GF.

So (through clenched teeth and little font) Go Pies

For mine, the ideal run would be a Prelim against the Dogs, followed by a GF against the Cats (after an epic and bruising SF vs the hawks, and Prelim vs the filth)... as the Cats have to go via the Cape now, and the prospect of a filth flag, or even a filth GF week, is totally sickening.

Having said that, I'll take whatever comes, and I probably wont be able to help barracking for the Dogs tonight.

Yes it's a bit of a dilemna.

I'm going to the game tonight.
I will be barracking for the Dogs because I am quite sympathetic towards them.
But I will be hoping Collingwood wins for strategic reasons.

So I will cheer the Dogs on till the siren goes then walk away glad they lost. :? :? :? :?

It's a bit like voting for Abbott but hoping Gillard wins for longer term strategic reasons.

Actually would like to see an energy sapping win for the Pies tonight.
Dogs get rolled by Sydney the follwong week with the Cats and Hawks fighting out a tough game with a narrow win to Geelong.
We beat Swans easily, Pies and Cats belt the crap out of each other in a bone jarring prelim that leaves fitness doubts to either side that wins.
Saints win GF by running away in 2nd half as the effects of Pies Cats prelim become apparent.
That is the scenario I would like to see, well actually any scenario that has us winning in 3 weeks time is perfect to me.

Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.

In the wet...despite being undermanned...the Bulldogs. Also, Geelong will smash the crap out of whoever they play next week.

Yep,go hawks,go Pies. In any other circumstance I'd be going for the opposition, but a hawks win will give the Cats a bit to think about next week. Then a Pies V hawks/geel prelim is very nice if we happen to win ours

Great win for us last night.

Lot of talk about the Hawks and others on here, but no mention of Freo. I reckon Freo will do the Hawks today at Subi.

Go dogs??

No way..

IMO much better for us if the Pies/Hawks/Cats all stay on the other side of the draw and have a really tough PF.

Dogs and swans are both missing a few key players and while a PF against them certainly cannot be taken for granted, at this stage it is the easiest scenario.

No way. I could never hope for Collingwood to win, so let's say I hope the Dogs lose.

PRIORITY is to keep the Pies and Cats on the same side of the draw.

Yeah I go along with that. We proved last night that if you want to give yourself the greatest chance of winning a final, you have to bring your A grade game from the first bounce.

It's a tricky one.
I never want the Pies to win so I'll be baracking for the Dogs but know we'll potentially be faced with a tougher game in 2 weeks.
Would be nice if we were the ones to knock them out too...plus we wouldn't have to worry about losing to them in a GF.

Go Pies!

Cats, Pies, Hawks on one side of the draw, while we'll have the Dogs and Swans/Blues.

It's a nice run for us.

Granted we beat them last night but I would still prefer we didn't meet the Cats again.

Before worrying about a flag it's all about getting to a GF and Collingwood winning tonight will make it a tad bit easier.
