Tickets Monday: Question!

Post: # 977982Post Saint05 »

Not sure if anyone has tried this in previous years but ill ask the question.
If your a member can you still request for an area to sit in (For example: Ponsford Stand) and will you still be placed in a members bay accordingly?? I know with Ticketek on the website you can request which stand to sit in, whether you get placed in a members bay is another question. Thanks, Go Sainters :)

On the internet you are just offered "the best available" (their words not necessarily the truth) in the stkilda areas allocated, if you are buying on members day.

I have learned to not necessarily accept the first they offer, especially in the first couple of weeks. Dont be afraid to say no and try again. Check out the map of the mcg and get an idea where you want to sit. Just hold your nerve and you can usually get good seats in the first couple of weeks.

Prelim final and grand final completely different.

Hope it helps

Indeed normally some of the worst seats go early as they seem to start with the bays near the goals and work towards the wings.

Most people prefer to get as close to the wing as possible and so I don't know why they do not sell the seats in that order instead.

Indeed last year non-members buying later in the week got betterseats than I did.

Yeah thats how I learned seems to happen every year. Non members buy tickets on Thursday and have great seats.

Not saying its easy, cos a little bit of me poos my pants thinking I am going to miss out, but each year I'm getting tougher

if you ring and speak to someone instead of using the net you might be able to get a better seat?

i do the double, the phone and the pc at the same time
and dont accept the first seats given on the net, the crap seats seem to go first :?

Yes, dont get sucked in with the first tickets you see. The MCG are notorious for putting inferior seats on sale first thing then gradually making better ones available during the day.

Remember the golden rule..

THE GAME WILL NOT SELL OUT!!!!!!!!!!

Now, can anybody provide me with a link to a map of the G showing the location of Standard, Prime and Premium seats? You would think it woujld be on the same page as the prices, but no that would be tooo logical lol

Cheers..I also found it on the MCG website

One advantage to booking early is that theres less chance of your bay being filled by "randoms" on Wednesday cos it didnt sell out during the members-only timeframe on Mon/Tues

On lower level go to at least AA, but depending on Melb's weather, who knows?

I've often thought I was safe from the elements at the G, only for hail to come in at almost horizontal level and smash me in the face...

will know cheersquad end when tickets start selling tomorrow

in that they do put fans near cheersquads

assumption ; Cats finished higher and may get first option and anyone

given the choice should take Ponsford....
