Hope the 2nd half is better.
It's like watching a 3 hour long arm wrestle that means pretty much nothing. A snooze fest. Adelaide are playing as though they're playing for a spot in the finals and we're playing like we just want to get it over with, which I'm sure we do. Boring.

Trouble is, you dont go hard at it, and thats when you do get hurt.

of course it counts. we need to take some form into september, not fall over the line against a team of hacks ... or even worse, lose to them.

a defeat today will not bode well for our chances.

While I partly agree, I also think that we have to gather form. I'm really not sure if we can just turn our game on at the flick of a switch.

You don't want to take bad form into September.

The highlight of his game so far was leaving his man to come across and lay a good spoil, then collect, get tackled but still free the hands and give it off.
Just to back up my own point, at half time he has had 8 disposals, but his Super Coach ranking points are 43.
Goddard, Montagna and Lenny all have 20 touches to half time, but their SC scores are 46,46,53 respectively.

It really highlights how effected he is considering Champion data do the ranking points and it's based on effectiveness and efficiency.

I get where you're coming from, but I reckon I'd rather the Pies had won. Imagine the pressure on them if they went into the finals with 11 straight wins and not having lost a game for over 3 months. Like how we went into the finals in '97. They'd have to have probably won 14 straight to win the flag, which is a huge ask. Now the pressure is right off. They'll probably be very relieved, once the initial disappointment wears off. I'm more concerned about them now, than I was before today.

Yep, I can just imagine Ross addressing the team before the game - "Okay boys, I want you to go out there and focus on stagnant football with sloppy disposal and over possessing it in the back half. If we can keep that up for 4 quarters our forward line we'll never get an inside 50 and our forward will be fresh for next week."

On a good note, Gardi is playing really well considering he has missed a couple of weeks

Form. We need form going into September. Its not the result but the way we go about it that I am concerned with.

The second part is perplexing to me. If a highly trained professional athlete is "weary" after a game 5 days later they should not qualify as a professional athlete.

He's been in awesome form in his last few games. I'm loving watching him play. Go Gards!

pressure wont be off as they blew a decent lead in the last against a top 8 team in what was an arm wrestle all day

i believe the pressure just went up on the pies
especiallly after that liftout today

Well this is extremely lackluster.

Mind you we've seen it from both the Cats and Pies today... lets hope in the second half we go back to basics and play with some structure and desire.

Come on Sainters!

Anybody seeing positives other than Gardiner's form and no injuries? I'm struggling to find any.

I wouldnt think the delightful liar, Micky M would be too impressed with his filth, seeing as they got to 3 goals up in the last quarter. Proved that they are no more a shot at it than two other clubs. (which I've always thought anyway). The way the media have been waffling on the last month or so, you'd think the Filth were over the line.

Game on from next Friday night. Can hardly wait.

Yep, he's done a couple of good things. I particularly like that play where he left his man to make a marking contest on the back flank, bought the ball to ground and then carried it over the line. Also a good chase on the far wing. He's got some toe and certainly has a crack. He's been the pick of our debutants this year.

Can someone tell me why we are playing with a yellow football in broad daylight?
