footy itself is a great leveler

No matter who you are
what bloody color you are
what god ...if any you worship
what color f'n hair you have or how you chose to present it
etc etc etc ...MATTERS LITTLE

(and who the bloody hell you wanna vote for really doesn't come into it either now does it)

It is all totally irrelevant when you step over that white line

But when you wanna sprout publicly about these No-nos that can throw many off-side, and maybe, just , maybe, if you harbor a desire of PUBLIC life AFTER footy in maybe one of these areas ( ....you'd be better advised to hold off commenting on them until AFTER you hang up your boots)

so Nick .... a word of advice M8

Shut the F!@K up on Politics , Religion, Sexual Preferences whatever, and stick to what you do best .....captain the Mighty Saints ....hopefully .to a bloody flag!!!

having said that and going on record as admiring and loving our great skipper ....

he oughta know better!

Not exactly best foot forward M8!!

And neither does it, ffs.

Simply because he is a footballer does not mean he can't answer an extremely topical question when asked.

FWIW I thought it silly. For mine, there's a time and a place for revealing your 'colours'. I don't think national TV is the forum for sportsman to be doing it. I don't care who he follows, I just think it's unnecessary. Bit like being doorknocked by a Jehovah's Witness. IMO.

On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Nick probably believes in equality of opportunity rather than equality of outcome.
Not an unusual belief for someone who works harder and smarter and so expects to be rewarded better for that greater effort.

The Saints choose to be better than the rest.
I hope the Saints seize the opportunity to take this year's premiership.

People should get a life.
If he wants to say who he wants in power so be it.
15 Million people did just that yesterday.
He was asked the question and he answered.
Thank god he has an opinion.

Nick clearly has more intelligence than Justin Madden.

He has my vote if he runs for parliament.

Surely this thread is a joke, we are knocking our skipper because he votes and follows the Libs and takes an interest in politics.

Imagine if he said he was a catholic or didn't recycle......

Why is this thread on the football forum, this is perfect GF fodder, which is why I am NEVER there...

...and also for the record...i have no problems with roo having a go at the tiger...what he did was stupid and dangerous.....to him...and roo....

and what's with the "big german" crack as well......?...you a racist as well as intolerant...??
Don't know where to begin on this one ...

For the record, my "homsexual crack" was to criticise Roo for doing a word association test in which he answered "homosexual" with "die." I didn't make it up. But apparently to Stinger that makes me a troll. Or a homosexual. I'm not sure which.

Plenty in this thread have let Roo off the hook for just responding to Joey ... but it's a flimsy excuse.

Snarling into the fallen tiger's ear has already been brought up on Game Day, and no doubt will get some coverage on the Monday evening shows. Not something I can see Tom Harley, or Robert Harvey for that matter. ever doing. In fact, until yesterday, I could never see Roo doing it.

"The Big German" is an affectionate term for Roo. Although "affectionate" probably makes me a homosexual as well. Or a troll. Or whatever.

I'm outta here.

The reason a footballer should not talk politics - is that politics is divisive and half the population will probably think you are a moron! It will lose the footballer personal popularity - which they all crave. It could lose memberships or sponsorships - potentially.

Since we are talking politics - these are the guys that Stinger and Roo think they are smart for voting for ... can they REALLY work together even if the Libs get the 73 other seats?
A more likely result is a Labor and Green coalition. And that would be fine by me!

http://www.theage.com.au/federal-electi ... 13aen.html

"While many election analysts suggest the independents, all former Nationals MPs, are more likely to side with the Coalition, Bob Katter and Tony Windsor have derided Mr Joyce; with one calling him a fool and the other labelling him a "piece of incredible unfortunateness.''
and
"Mr Katter said improving the ethanol industry and broadband infrastructure were high on his agenda.

''A privatised broadband, I mean, please, don't even talk about it, privatised Telstra has been absolutely disastrous for rural Australia,'' he said.

This is a team game and there is no room for individuals who think they are above walking through the fire.

The moment that we do not feel free to air our political opinion is the moment that we are no longer allowed to have one.

Blessed are the big noses as they shall inherit the earth.

He does know better. Better than to worry about what others think.

Clearly he is not representing the club if he is talking about who he votes for. He is entitled to vote, and he is entitles to express who he votes for.

I suspect that Nick will always do and say what he believes is right without any fear of the extreme nambi/pambiests.

People who are intolerant of other peoples views are always expressing their view that others shouldn't express their views.

This thread is clearly influenced by the fact we have just sat through 8 weeks of electioneering and posturing for position...perhaps some potential whinging politicians on here also....
