Nathan Bock has already signed as an uncontracted therefore Adelaide recieve zero for him.

"Bock's departure disappointed Trigg and Crows coach Neil Craig, who don't know what compensation they will receive for the 2008 All Australian and club champion.
Trigg believed it could be a draft pick numbered between 26 and 30.
"When it happens to you as a club and you get a 26 to 30 ... it stinks," Trigg said'

Haven't got time to read through the whole thread but I gather this is about Bakes having Doc's cheeks and signing with the GC.
Will be sad to see the #10 go but that's footy I guess.
Now let's see, what else is happening with the Saints?
I think there's an Armo thread around here somewhere..............

Wrong. Not compulsory that a club MUST lose a player. If a player is uncontracted, Gold Coast can go after him for sure, but not a case where we must send one north!!BigMart wrote:I was of the knowledge that GC had access to one player (Contracted or not) from every club....if the player is contracted, then the club must be compensated with a speculative DP determined by the AFL???

I want to stand for something. I'm a loyal person and I think at the end of my career it will be great to look back and know that I'm a St Kilda person for life.

Absolutely, Yipper. Although available to them, GC are extremely unlikely to want a player from each club in any event. They already have enough good young players plus blokes like Daniel Harris, Danny Stanley, Michael Coad, K Hunt, Sam Iles and to fill at least half a side. They'll spread their spend over maybe min 6 max 10 players. In my view, they'll look for a mature ruckman (J Fraser, maybe?), a number of mature-bodied utilities, and otherwise bolster their defence with the available Bocks of this world.

Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'
