I'd hope for better efforts for a bloke who should be playing for his spot.Bernard Shakey wrote:Yeah, well, what do you expect?
Looks like Rhys wants to be a part of September action.

Still think Kosi did his bit tonight crashing the packs creating spillage,
Also took a couple of vintage marks...
Still important to our structure..thought some of Stanleys tackles were excellent BTW!

Agree, one of Kosi's better games. Second efforts would be good.saint patrick wrote:Still think Kosi did his bit tonight crashing the packs creating spillage,

Old enough to repaint, but young enough to sell
Needs to crash even more. Not Kosi's worst game though, and would still back him in over Rhys come the finals. But Rhys will be some player.saint patrick wrote:Still think Kosi did his bit tonight crashing the packs creating spillage,

And he has a 7-0 record now, the new Big Mac?

In my opinion contested marks are a skill, tackling is much more about effort. However Kosi's lack of agility obviously is also a factor.kosifantutti23 wrote:Contested marks.
Kosi 3 Stanley 0
Indictment on Stanley and 15 other players who didn't take a contested mark between them.

I saw a stat while watching the game again, Hansen 5 Marks, 2 Contested, 2 Uncontested. What was the other one?kosifantutti23 wrote:Contested marks.

Furtius Quo Rdelious
Milney's tackling is down 1 per game on average on last year. Needs to lift.kosifantutti23 wrote:In my opinion statistics are overrated unless I'm using them.
By the way, Schneider 7 tackles, Milne 0
Schneider is an excellent player.

CJ was more efficient than Lenny.#1GILL wrote:Stats....Pffffffttt, most of them mean nothing.
He's one for ya:
Lenny..58% efficiency
CJ...95%
Someone tell me CJ was more efficient than Lenny.
Lenny's skils are ordinary. Doesn't mean he's not a bloody champion and that I want his sperm though.

Probably 3 of Lenny's first 5 kicks were smothered off the boot - so they would show up as ineffective yet at least he was there getting the ball out....

Re: Stanley 6 Kosi 0
Tackles aren't exactly common for key forwards - Roo has 12 for the year, and he's much more mobile than Kosi. Kosi has 26 and averages more per game than Roo. I think Stanley's tackles were mostly in traffic where he just happened to be the guy closest to the ball carrier. I don't think many were generated by his speed or a particular herculean effort. It's encouraging, as rucks don't tend to get a lot of tackles. I don't think it proves anything other than Stanley is more mobile than Kosi. Anyone with functioning eyes knew that.dcstkfc wrote:Tackle count. Indictment on Kosi.
Stanley needs to improve some things if he's going to unseat Kosi. On tonight's game alone, I doubt it will happen soon.
Yeah nah pleasing positive

Yeah, but i just dunno if the effort is there mate. You know our trademark is 'beer footy', but are you really living up to it?Dr Spaceman wrote:My own stats are a bit down this year.
Probably 1.35 pots per game.
Yet I still believe I'm earning my spot each week.
...
Am I the only one who noticed Kosi limping & wincing in pain while on the ground? That + the preferance to coral the ball carrier rather than commit to the tackle ain't gunna help him in the eyes of you stats slanting fanboys

I saw Kosi twice use his strength to shepherd the ball through for goals where the kick only just made it. Both occasions I doubt Stanley would have been able to keep his opponent away.
