What Fringe player could we be interested in

I don't know much about him but what about is it Matthew Bate from Melbourne.

Touched us up at Carrara last year (lone hand in a losing side), looked like a decent mid sized forward... out of the Demons team atm

Colin Sylvia is not exactly a fringe player but isn't exactly untouchable either

Salopek name has already been mentioned this week

demons would consider bate and sylvia as core. dees will push for several flags in the next 5 years.

yep. we did. hes a decent player too. but we are ok for tall defenders.
if we do try and trade we need a no over 23 rule. we are a ageing list. we dont need any more mature players. i just want a geniune speedster.

Yep. I rate him highly as a player. As a forward who is very difficult to match up on, or even a wingman.

I have been bewildered that he hasnt been a regular starter under Hardwick.

Abit of Ross discipline and the guy could be an absolute star. I see many similarities between him and Stevie J.

I'd have a look at him. He's a loose, lazy dud so would require some taming but he may respond better to RL than that chrome dome big head Rocket. Never know.

Personally, I'd be trying to usurp GC for Harbrow. Quick skilful runner.

i stand corrected on this. sylvia core but apparently Bate is on the outer at demonland...

i stilll reckon - as in 2009 - our priority should be some pace. im thinking travis varcoe and sharrod wellingham types.

Fringe fast players are hard to come by.

Off the top of my head i can think of Tambling, Jordan McMahon, maybe one of the Jettas.

Ideally you want to raid one of the very quick teams who have pace coming from everywhere. Essendon, and Carlton have some pacey players too.

But we would have to be prepared to became a suitable offer.

If you offer crap, then that's what you'll receive in return.

In and out of the side this year, a couple of injuries, but as a third forward who has a big of an X factor about him, he'd be a good pickup.

Might not pass the "No D*ckheads" test, but, at least according to this thread, RL can straighten out anyone....
