I did not omitt it, I thought the rules were that your not allowed to post the entire article...so I just posted a big chunk, and the bit were he said it's not known if the players know.FortiusQuoFidelius wrote:Note that the last line of the newspaper article (and conveniently omitted in the original post) states "He is not expected to return to Carlton."doggerel wrote:saintsRrising wrote:Lets see...

Who do you think the Blues would target as their next coach?
* Favourite son
* Someone who has been assistant to a top club for a while
Wonder who that may be?????????????????
Yes, some prospect of this given the timing. Why else release this now if not to let the market know he will be available? Yet Lyon's remarks seem contrary to the notion. Perhaps some other role at the Blues?
Silvagni finishing with the Saints at years end

Sorry, I didn't mean to leave out one of the important bits of info...
Everton, I just didn't like Mike's vibe of "I know" but the players probably don't....hopefully SOS let them know.
I guess that's a fair call that Mike has done well at his job to break a story, I don't really feel like giving the HS much credit this year to be honest.

Harley has a role with GWS now...plus I think his wife is from Sydney and he is living in Sydney.FortiusQuoFidelius wrote:St Kilda should very seriously look at recruiting Tom Harley as defence coach. He already has some coaching experience courtesy of his role as assistant coach and mentor at the AIS AFL Academy.

I dont think that is any chance. The Blues have gone as well as could have been expected this year IMO. I certainly didnt have them higher than 6th after losing Fev.bigcarl wrote:Source: Gut feeling and jungle drum from Carlton.bigcarl wrote:i reckon SOS has been approached to take over from Ratten at the Blues.

All credit to Lyon for turning things around so quickly after Mr Svengali took a list from heaven and sent it halfway to hell in just five years while the belief cloud ended up looking more like a mushroom!
If it wasn't for Ross Lyon we would not have even made the Grand Final to begin with!

And when Rod rang me that glorious day and asked me my thoughts, I was able to refer him to a few posts on here and the rest is history!
