Cotchin 4 Weeks
I know many will say that this should be in the opposition forum, but this is just an outrage. I'm raising this top not so much about the decision, but for the fact that the AFL is in majpr S*** with the MRP system.
We have been screwed over majorly this year, and now so has Richmond.
If the AFL don't change this current set-up over the off season, I will seriously consider no longer following the sport.
I'm not sure if anyone has seen the incident, or if anyone can upload a link to the incident, but it is just as much of an outrage as the Baker slamming, if not more.
SOMETHING MUST BE DONE!

+1
If David Hille can get off for shirt fronting several players this season after they dispose of the ball, and only gets a reprimand, why does Cotchin get a maximum penalty of 4 weeks.
It just amazes me as to how this system was approved in the first place, right behind the North bloke who wants the system changed, about time the players as a whole had a say on this issue. ( He'll probably cop a fine for that considering how ridiculous the system is becoming)

How they graded it seems pretty right to me. The guy was knocked out so 3 weeks seems ok.#1GILL wrote:I know many will say that this should be in the opposition forum, but this is just an outrage. It's not that they graded it wrong, it's the fact that they are using a stupid points system to penalise players. No two incidents are the same, they all need to be taken on their merrits, not scored.plugger66 wrote:How they graded it seems pretty right to me. It's not so much the decision I have a problem with as much as the SYSTEM. It needs to go.
Re: Cotchin 4 Weeks
And get back to the other system that didnt have reprimands. If we get back to that about 50 players or more a year will be rubbed out that arent now. i know it is hard to believe due to the Baker suspension but this system is much better for the players than the previous system and now with so many reportable incidents we will lose many more players if we go back. I certainly dont want that.#1GILL wrote:It's not that they graded it wrong, it's the fact that they are using a stupid points system to penalise players. Does not have to be the exact same system as it was before if it were to change. It can take the better points of both systems. No reason why a player cannot receive a reprimand or even loading under a new system, one that looks at the severity of the incident using good old common sense. The grading of charges under the current system used is what is causing the issue. It creates situations like the one raised in the OP and what happened to poor old Bakes.plugger66 wrote:And get back to the other system that didnt have reprimands. I am not sure why you are quite so closed minded to things that could improve the game. I mean you present as though you love the sport, so why wouldn't you want to see it get better?
Are you satisfied with the current system? Anything you could suggest to improve it?

Thank god he didn't dish out a few rabbit punches and get 9 weeks...the game doesn't need that sort of behaviour.plugger66 wrote:How they graded it seems pretty right to me. I was at the game the guy was not knocked out. Same as Hille but Cotchin did not play with Mark Fraser, so know freebees. Should have been 3 at most.
