I personally hope George Young gets some recognition. He was very very good in the seasons he played for us (he was my hero then) and his career was ended by a horrible injury... but was magnificent when he played for us.

For the record, he was a 4 time leading goalkicker for the Saints.

People who didn't see George play have no idea how good he was.

All time favourite of many of us at Saintsational.

I've been asked by the club to not disclose the player's name that I know of.

They would like it to be revealed on the night but I can say that although any of the other players mentioned may be inducted, the one I am referring to is not mentioned on this thread, but was mentioned on another thread last night.

If you guess him, I can't actually confirm it. Sorry about that, but you will know.

The club is happy about the thread because they appreciate the publicity from the forum and believe that it helps to increase awareness for the event and builds the honour associated with the Hall of Fame.

The club is also happy for people to guess, because it's a little bit of fun and arouses curiosity in the Hall of Fame and evokes discussion similar to the Brownlow. They loved the fact that the link to the existing Hall of Fame list was on the OP. In addition, they said it is only one inductee, so no harm done, as long as I don't publish the name on the forum, but I can tell the person who is correct.

SEQ Saints and the Albury/Wodonga Saints were also happy with the publicity in the form of Stickies and support from the forum for their events which were very successful.

So keep your guesses coming. Some are in in the right era.

always good to have considered leadership.

a) do the 'club' think we should merge our opposition forum with our main board ?

b) is the club happier now that the general forum is 'out of sight/out of mind ?

Milan....

It was quite possible to have a bit of fun guessing without you revealing that you knew who it was getting inducted.

That just smacks of egotism..... "na na nana na, I know and you don't".

We could have publicised the HOF event without you big-noting yourself.

Is this job getting to your head?

You cannot use the examples of the SEQ and Aldonga stickies and this thread, as this was more about you pumping up your own tyres than publicising the HOF.

You could probably call the club and ask them.

Since you are a new poster, just to let you know, we usually try to keep to the topic and there is a thread and a poll about the questions above.

This thread is about the Hall of Fame so we try to stay on that topic.

The forum thread is:

At this stage, the poll will be up until the end of the week. No final decision has been made. The feedback has been very good on both sides. You'll probably find more info on the Forum Merger Poll and associated thread, GO.

I noticed that your poll was still up... but it doesn't seem to be leaning greatly in either direction.

So on that basis, is there an option for the status quo to remain?

Yes, that is certainly an option. The poll was set up by dcstkfc by the way but it has been good to see the feedback.
