no i will not....i do know mrs cloke and david......had coffee with them on several occasions....we once talked about where we grew up.....i mentioned ashburton...she mentioned her mother. who gave birth to her when she was about 15....i told her i knew her mother and actually played junior football with her uncles... i have not been discredited...and i take your word for nothing.....peter carey is still her brother as far as i'm concerned.....


i actually remember when she was nearly killed when a motor cyclist came through their car window......she still bears the scars.....

Anyone want to have stab at explaining why Dale Thomas wasn't even sighted by the MRP for his jumper punch Friday night against Port?
I know it's too much to expect consistency, but am I not right in saying that AA and the umpiring fraternity pledged to crack down on off the ball incidents?
From my armchair, Thomas' hit seemed to have the same force, the same outcome, and the same intent of Baker's hit on Johnson. This time... no comment!

Saw it exactly the same, and thought he should have been cited and expected he'd get a week, which would be downgraded. But nothing demonstrated the consistent inequities that exist every week.

from a Collingwood point of view...this is how i thought it would play out as well. I didn't think he'd get suspended, but thought he'd get cited and cop some minor points.


Baker was made an example of. Pure and simple. If it were the 1 jumper punch alone, he probably would've got off...but I have no doubt the tribunal look at all the incidents and it added weight...even though they are meant to look at them all individually.


FWIW, I thought the 2 weeks he copped for the jumper punch was soft. Probably deserved to get off that charge. But I thought they were correct with the other 2 charges. The misconduct charge was 50/50. I like that the AFL is stamping out this sort of behaviour, but thought it was unfair Baker was used as a scapegoat...especially considering Jack Riewodlt did it only a few weeks earlier to Tayte Pears.

When was Loewe on the MRP?
I know he was once on the tribunal (the body that hears players contest MRP decisions) but I was never aware he was on the MRP.
I seem to also remember him disqualifying himself when former team mates were charged, something I don't hear done with regard to the present MRP or tribunal.
