Pattison and McEvoy

Post: # 954906Post dcstkfc »

Really happy with their respective games.

Big Mac was as good as I've seen him at with the ball on the ground, and took some strong contested marks. King won't get back unless injury intervenes.

Patto is very agile, and led well. Tackled ferociously, his skills do let him down though. Kosi could learn something from his second efforts.

Pattison really tried.
He was helped out by having Riewoldt as a decoy attracting multiple opponents.
McEvoy still lumbers around and does not get of the ground for ruck contests.

I would keep Pattison up forward ahead of Koschitzke but I would bring Koschitzke in ahead of McEvoy.

Koschitzke and Pattison sharing the 2nd ruck and 2nd tall forward position would be my choice.

Mc was great and Pattison surprised with his commitment.

I didn't mind pattisons game. Worked hard. Took 6 marks I think. Needs to convert on a couple and not give away stupid free kicks.

I think again we've seen with Peake, Ray, Dawson (more last year) and now Pattison that Ross knows how to get the best out of blokes.

Patto will be a wonderful player if he can kick straight. Macca was serviceable.

Also happy with their respective efforts.

They did well. Pattison needs to work on his kicking.

McEvoy's 2nd half was outstanding.

Pattison did as much as Koschitzke has been doing, but I think Kosi comes back in for him on merit.

McEvoy is really impressive around the ground, though still needs work on his rucking.

Pattison and Peake just show that previous history with other clubs should be exactly that....history. New chapter in their respective careers, they play for St Kilda now.

Is King now gone?
I would think so.

Again Pattison was a number one draft pick when he was selected for Richmond and he is still only 25 years old...

I have stated that his last year at Richmond he was playing whilst injured but still so many posters have rubbished him before and after his first match and just considered him a "Richmond reject"....

I hope he continues with his progress and for posters thinking that he is the 4th option have another look..

Gardner
McEvoy
Pattison

Kosi and Stanley are forwards

Pattison is the only second ruck option going forward when King retires, so get you head around it ....

Pattison put in more than Kosi does tonight, but he's still a spud, and backup to the backup at best.

Spud perhaps, but Ross has made some nice dishes from spuds

King to ruck coach I hope, as he was a very good tap ruckman.
Still a handy replacement if someone get's injured or needs a rest.
Kosi would have kicked at least two of those goals pattison missed and who knows, maybe Kosi needed this break and like Pattison will benfit from more attention being focused on Roo instead of him.

The last good spud was Danny.

He was a first round draft pick (number 16) not a number one draft pick!

Pattison was good.

Had some chances to blow the game open.

Skills let him down at times, but another game with good intensity.

Mac was decent again. Without looking at the stats, he is pretty handy with mop up marking.

Gardy was decent also.

Good game from the big blokes.

Actually he was taken pick 16 in 2004 but a round one pick which was traded from Geelong as part of the Brad Ottens deal.

Pattison 15 disposals, 2 behinds, 1 contested mark, 5 uncontested, 5 tackles!

Just be nice to see em take a big grab or two inside 50

Contested marks by our key forwards is our big weakness right now IMO

For all the commentary blathering about how great Fev was, had Pattison kicked straight, he would have ended up with 3 goals...who would have seen that coming? Great effort by the guy.

McEVOY had 3 hitouts ????

Post: # 955032Post WinnersOnly »

For me PATTISON is a much better option atm. McEvoy did Ok around the ground but Pattison was much better. I will repeat which I have previoulsy posted is that KOSI would be a better option as 2nd ruck than both of them. Find another Full Forward SAINTS (Goddard/Walsh/Stanley/Pattison/Carr) and play KOSI in 2nd ruck resting forward.

SAINTS another day older another day closer to the Holy Grail!
