not to mention our ability to score goals quickly. People say we are boring and defensive but we stole the game from the doggies by kicking quick successive goals and we got back into it pretty quick tonight doing the same. we deserve credit for that3rd generation saint wrote:A win at the Gabba, Roo got through, no Goddard or Kosi. Let's not forget Gram got through ok as well.
Would have liked to have won by more, 25 scoring shots to 16.
We will have to play better next week.
Hope Blake doesn't go for tripping.

If nothing else he provides a useful back-up when players like Kosi are out....and in a game where Roo was only going to be used part-time. Hence Pattos more mature body being preferred to Stanley's.3rd generation saint wrote:

Pattison surprised, very handy game I thought, just needed to convert a bit better, maybe RL did see something in him.

Excellent night at the office in the end.
Said at half time that we would need to improve big time on our second quarter effort to make a win of this and that's exactly what they did. From the word go, they started playing smarter, more controlled football.
In the end, we won at the Gabba, we got four points, Freo didn't get four points and Roo got through unscathed.
Next week we can bring Goddard back in (who knows who for) and burst the Pies' bubble once again.
Couldn't ask for more. very happy tonight! :D:D

Don't get me wrong, I like him and thought he would go to another level this year after his very good 09 season however, this year he has gone backwards and I have watched him carefully.fingers wrote:Nonsense. Had a quiet night I will give you that but he goes ok.saintkid wrote:McQualter is not up to it. He cant get a clear posession and fumbles most of the time now.

True he has dropped back a little from last year but I don't think he's as bad as your first post suggested. I might have misread it thought.saintkid wrote:Don't get me wrong, I like him and thought he would go to another level this year after his very good 09 season however, this year he has gone backwards and I have watched him carefully.fingers wrote:Nonsense. FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARK I LOVE THIS TEAM!
Brisbane went 17 points up in the 2nd quarter with dodgy frees...then didn't score for about half an hour of football.
Ridiculous umpiring decisions against us....didn't matter. Brisbane were not good enough to take advantage.
In honour of those who went before, in the dark and desperate years.
