I think it's important to know why we are asking forumites for their opinion on this topic.
The reason why the topic has come up is because when some AFL news transcends the club news like Cousins, Carey or Israel Folau, Karmichael Hunt etc, it may be good for us to discuss it on the Fan Forum rather than the Opposition Forum.
We are referring to the Opposition Forum NOT the General Forum. The General Forum is generally for non footy discussion among the forumites such as politics, current affairs, trivia, funny stories etc, and will remain independent and a stand alone forum.
The Opposition Forum is not exactly thriving and is not really being utilised that much.
The thread is open and we are open to suggestions.
Here is your chance to help structure our forum.

Yes just to add to Milan's comments:
Argument for merger: Allowing more exposure for General footy chat, quality posting often goes unnoticed.
Argument against merger: Primary purpose for site is for Saints discussion, merger can dilute St Kilda chat, we become more like a footy site rather than a Saints site.

Is this the start of the admin's "claw-back" of common sense?
Been here long enough to remember the forced separation of the two forums. (Or is that forii?) Now we have a poll about revisiting the past. What's next???? Will the General Forum be resumed into plain sight?
Wake up to yourself admin guys..... you are finally beginning to reap what you sow...... Can anyone remember the last time the general forum went 24hours without a post? About two new threads a week in the opposition forum, and as for the Moorabbin Wing/Cheer squad forum.... accumulated cobwebs now have grown over the link.
You have successfully ostracised all the interesting posters with your inept admin/mod stance and the forum is dying. I give it 12 months tops. Such a shame... so much potential wasted.
Badly needs a heart transplant, and none of you have one.
I'll stick around long enough to say I told you so.

Yet you posted on the Cousins thread on the Fan Forum. That was a bit of a litmus test to see if people are interested in Opposition news on the Fan Forum and it has about 20 posts on the Fan Forum.SainterK wrote:Nope from me also, same reasons....footy is so topical these days, I feel like it would clog up the Saints board to much.
No.
Its not difficult to look at the opposition forum for info on other clubs, and it could get pretty crowded on the Saints forum and become a chore sifting through to find Saints topics, particularly if the topic title doesn't spell it out.
Having said that though, it doesn't phase me if the occasional tidbit (such as the Cousins thing) makes it onto the main board occasionally.

So the mods are leaving traps for the unwary posters now?Milan Faletic wrote:Yet you posted on the Cousins thread on the Fan Forum. Mate, speaking for myself only. I was not a mod when any of those things you mentioned above, were instigated. Now I am and we are trying to get things rolling.GrumpyOne wrote:Is this the start of the admin's "claw-back" of common sense?

So claw back is a total croc, GO. Disappointed in you GO. Leave now if you want, we won't miss you or would you like to have your own forum where you can talk to yourself and anyone who agrees you.
I've been productive and communicative with you right from the start of my "marathon" four weeks of being a mod. If I have a heart transplant, I hope it's not your Grumpy heart that I receive.
Don't lump me in the past, and use hindsight as a valid argument to pump up your ego. Try moving forward and rather than being so negative, use the opportunity to get the forum that you would like. Innovate and stop being so two faced, Grumpy One. Otherwise, put up and shut up.

You are really a piece of work. Read the thread. I clearly stated that we are leaving this on the Fan Forum despite it being Opposition news.GrumpyOne wrote:So the mods are leaving traps for the unwary posters now?Milan Faletic wrote:Yet you posted on the Cousins thread on the Fan Forum. Verrry interesting.
Verrry negative and verrry invalid, GO.
Offer something positive, mate. Any suggestions? Or just criticism from the back row of the classroom?

Grumpy One I struggle to see how myself and Milan Faletic have reaped what we have sowed when we have been mods for a combined 10 weeks.

Someone's sig states, "I must hurry, for there go my people and I am their leader." I don't see any leadership or people, GO, just pessimism from the safety of your keyboard.dcstkfc wrote:Milan Faletic wrote:Mate, speaking for myself only. God knows I tried Milan..... but like everyone else who doesn't agree with the Battye/N1ck junta, I was totally ignored.
I did suggest innovation.... in fact I absolutely begged for it.... so don't lay that turkey at my door.
Go through the list of intelligent posters who used to be here and ask yourself where they have gone?
All that's left here now are some diehards and a bunch of neanderthal newbies.

And what shall we call the offsping of that Milan? Can I keep the one with the pink nose?I've been productive with you right from the start of my marathon four weeks of being a mod.

I repeat ...... any suggestions now, anything proactive or progressive. Easy to sit on the sidelines. Is there a use by date on your suggestions. I repeat again, here is your chance.GrumpyOne wrote:God knows I tried Milan..... but like everyone else who doesn't agree with the Battye/N1ck junta, I was totally ignored.

You are welcome to leave or stay but stop wasting our time with negativity so we can focus on the majority of the good posters on the forum. Maybe the forum has passed you by.
What is offsping anyway?
Definately keep it
Who cares if theres only a fraction of the traffic of the Saints Forum??
Theres room for compromise too. If theres a big football story with only a tenuous link to the Saints (Cousins, Barlows broken leg) and someone posts it on the Fan Forum, its not the end of the world. Leave it there for a day or so then move it to the Oppo Forum, leaving a shadow in the main forum. Its gets the exposure but is then moved to where it rightfully belongs.
As for the General Forum....again, who cares if traffic there is down a bit?? It always ebbs and flows and right now theres more than enough Saints stuff to talk about. Once the election is called, trust me theres a very good chance all hell will break loose again (sorry, "vibrant discussion") and if all else fails Grumps, I'm sure you can dredge up a few of your specialist Year 10 schoolboy joke threads to keep things humming along
Quality over quantity I reckon anyway

Good feedback. That why I left Ben Cousins on the main forum and clearly explained why to the forum. Also agree with the Gen Forum comments.saint66au wrote:Definately keep it
