Cheney two seperate hits on BJ

Post: # 952279Post backit »

No 25 Cheney has had two seperate hits on BJ, one in the guts when BJ went for a mark, very late and paid a 50, then jumped off the ground straight into BJ when he was going for a mark no eyes for teh ball and another 50.

Over to the MRP because they are deemed as late, a strike, no eyes for the ball and off the ground.

Minimum 4 weeks for both (2 weeks each)

Dirty little pr1ck.

Done it to him twice deliberately after Goddard has taken a mark. Second one he had no intention other than to try and hurt Goddard, you could see him look at BJ as he jumped into him.

At least Melbourne is stupid enough not to realise you never want an angry BJ.

Yep unfortunately you are right. Next week it will all die down and everyone will forget about cracking down on nigglers. The afl must be wrapped that barlow broke his leg as this has put baker off front page.

Did laugh though that it is not good for football what baker did, but we are all enduring replay after replay of a poor guy breaking his leg.

Needs to be noted just to confirm there are two sets of rules the Bakes rules and the rest rules.

I agree. We as supporters should make as much noise as possible when these blatant charges occur. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

I think they just regard Goddard as so good, their only strategy was to bash him.

Im assuming after the first hit the doctors would have looked at Goddard. Therefore Cheney would have to assume that Goddard was playing on injured, and obviously all AFL players are expected to know the medical diagnosis. So the second hit he should be in a lot of trouble, if the MRP are consistent.

Interesting precedent isnt it. Theoretically a player could pretend to hurt themselves, go off , bandage something and then if they get hit there, that player gets reported. And the first player may not even be injured

Goddard to get rubbed out for running into Cheney's (potentially) injured hand.

Steven Baker charged by the match review panel, in that he willfully aided Cheney in psychic manipulation to bring disrepute to the game. 42 matches reduced to 48 for a guilty plea.

Two charges, just over 200 activation points reduced to under 200 with early plea, he misses one week with large carryover point total.

Clearly no contact made, even Adrian Anderson can see that.
Will probably instruct Mark Fraser and the MRP accordingly.

But Goodard could be cited for attempted tripping because Goddard has his leg out.

It gets worse, they've just cited BJ.

Brendan Goddard, St Kilda, has been charged with a level three fashion offence during the round 14 match between St Kilda and Melbourne played at Etihad Stadium on Sunday July 4, 2010.

In summary, his previous poor record and red hair means that his two-game sanction must remain at two games, even with an early plea.

His boots were assessed as unmanly (three points), inappropriately laced (one point) and twin tone (two points). This is a total of six activation points, resulting in a classification of a level three offence, drawing 225 demerit points and a two-match sanction. He has an existing bad record of four matches suspended within the last three years, increasing the penalty by 50 per cent to 337.50 demerit points and a three-match sanction. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to 253.13 points and a two-match sanction.

Take the two.
