ok it makes sense as if they contest them all his season is over but still.... none of the four warrented a report

I thought there was at least one report in there, but agree that two could be thrown out with about a 5 minute presentation. Given recent precedents, SJ could challenge one of his too.

I would have contested three out of the four. The only one I thought not worth challenging was the 'punch' to SJ's chin

SJ has accepted bans and will be out of hospital soon

Accept 2 contest 2. Result one dismissed one downgraded probably 5 or 6 weeks out. Best case senario for all concerned. AFL et to make point on taggers/niggles. Bakes get his right whack (in the eyes of impartial observers).
If we contest all 4 he would probably end up with 10 weeks.

If Iam right, the misconduct over the hand hitting thing is worth only one week. SO if they contest (and win) two of the striking charges, then he's down to a 4 week holiday.

If they contest the misconduct and the softest of the the striking charges then he's down to 6 weeks, and depending on which ones they contest (assuming they win) he will be our for anything from 4 to 6 weeks.

Added to that I firmly believe a deal is already done or being worked on and they will win whatever they contest (anyone who believes the MRP and Tirburinal are independent please see me about a nice little bridge I have for sale in Sydney).

2nd- level 2 misconduct- the injured hand..

has accepted the other two- 500+ points - taking 5 weeks
risking 4
may get another 5- is he loses-

bringing him back 2nd week of finals...

Yep, TB I reckon you're on the money.

I assume well be contesting the taps on the throat and the back of the head as being minimal contact. I assume we'll win those and every party ends up with something.

my guess will be:

hand punch - defense will be SJ has to be assumed fit to play as on field and not being treated and able to mark etc

Likely outcome - gets off (removes 140 points)

Removes 2 weeks from suspension

round house from behind - defense will be contact to neck not head and not sufficient force made (and they will struggle to prove this) and was more of a 'scare tactic' than hit ...

Likely outcome - still found guilty and penalty upgraded

Adds week to suspension

We should just be challenging the hand punch

Will be out for 8 all up

It appears that he is only risking an extra week if he contests the 2 charges.

So, if he is still found guilty, instead of 9 weeks he gets 10 weeks.

If he gets off both charges, he only has to serve 5 weeks.

I am with true believer. A deal will be being worked on behind the scenes as we speak. 6-7 weeks will be the outcome IMO.
