The AFL has announced the following charges laid in Rd 11- Lenny Hayes, St Kilda, reported by umpire Shane Stewart for engaging in rough conduct against Jeromey Webberley, Richmond, during the first quarter of the Round Eleven match between St Kilda and Richmond, played at Etihad Stadium on Friday June 4, 2010.
I assume that was the high contact in the marking contest...
Open hand contact to the head...Surprised this has made it this far!
It was late, but it was open hand and minimal contact so I think he will be fine.
If it came to the point that it had to be contested (but I don't think it will get that far) I would actually argue that he was suffering from concussion, and it wasn't the first or last time his timing was greatly off on Friday night.

Who was concussed? I dont think Webberley was and Lenny certainly wasnt.

As far as I know I don't think that the concussion defence is valid these days but I could be wrong. However he did look out of sorts from the normal Lenny and his kicking was all over the place.

Are you sure, someone mentioned he copped a big knock to the head early on, certainly showed the signs?

Not from where i was watching. Played a good game but was beaten by Tuck on the night. It happens.

He was reported during the game. Doesn't mean it won't be thrown out.

hopefully they will go easy on him because he is a "special" player like buddy.
what is lenny's form like?
Is that the same Buddy who has been suspended 3 times in 12 games. Yes he gets a great run especially since most people said he was very unlucky in the first 2 reports.
Lenny has had a few suspensions so he isnt a clean skin. Most have been for silly things though.

plugger, you being a former umpire would know that the AFL has made it very clear that contact to the head will be regarded as a serious offence.
what is is about that statement that buddy doesn't understand?
he must be a complete dope to keep making the same mistake.
frankly, if he keeps committing the same offence he should be dealt with the same way as any other serial offender. i thought one week was very soft by the MRP.
it's okay for kosi to get three for a similar offense, but he's not "special" is he.

You seriously dont think Kosi and Buddy's were the same do you. I know you are just having a lend of me but it is pretty funny.

Can we keep the thread on topic instead of the usual garbage we have on each thread involving certain posters?

On account of our legal counsel trying to plea it down - "it was unintentional, Lenny was actually trying to cheap shot the umpire and Webberley got in the way"
The only fair way to resolve it is to suspend Baker for no less than 4 matches.

Best bitch slap ever...should be raised, but there's no way anyone would get weeks for that, it had no impact on the player or game whatsoever, other than to hold it up for 30 seconds and provide Bakes with another opportunity to do his terrier impersonation.
