Brett Peake

Post: # 937500Post dcstkfc »

I think he's a very valuable player at the moment, definitely have him in ahead of Eddy, Geary, Armo, Steven. His run is very valuable and a good finisher.

Come finals time I think the run of Gram, Raph and Peake could hold us in better stead than where we were at last year.

peake is very under rated... they guy again is finding his feet within the team and is looking better every week (why did we drop him in the first place) hes a mid that lays a few tackles kick a couple

makes some poor decisions at times but makes up for it... and will get past it

glad for his pick up over the off season and could be a real suprise packet given the chance

He's getting better and I am liking him more. I think he needs more penetration on his kicking. So many of his kicks are up and under with little or no force.

He is going to look better in a talented squad like ours however he is an average player with a bit of speed.

Good on him though he is playing a good part in the 22 at the moment.

i think he was trying to doo too much the first few games and in turn it made him look like he wasnt sure what to do ... now i think he has been given a direct instruction to run like the clappers and get the ball forward and he is doing that well ....

also though Farren was great last night

I find myself hoping he pulls it together like I used to for Fiora. I just hope he does.

I've also been much more impressed with his most recent games. If his kicking was better he'd really be something. But then, if it was, he'd probably still be at Freo. Really hope he keeps it up.

Don't know if he does enough IMO

drifts in and out of games too much... the comparison with Fiora is a good 1

the type of player that could get 10 possessions in the midfield and bob up with 2 goals

Definitely improving. Still don't know if he's in the 'best' 22. But without Gram, we need his run.
Needs to use it a bit better and be a bit more consistent.

Recruiting Manager John Peake does not under rate anyone named Peake.

I actually saw him centre it last night with his left, couldn't believe it but didn't look bad at all, not quite sure why he would kick on his right no matter what last week.

He does add that pace and can find the goals but needs the polish. As previously stated lacks penetration in his kicking at times. Missed an easy goal last night when running with Joey (wish Joey didn't give it off and Peake had shepharded). Decision making is a bit off too but in a new side can't expect him to be perfect.

Jury is still out with him, but I can see myself being convinced by seasons end.

in the absence of Grammy. Peake has fulfilled an important role reasonably well
He continues to improve and find his way within the team structure
He is of a different ilk to Geary and Eddy and clearly plays a different role
When a fit Grammy returns it will be interesting selection wise
But if he keeps contributing they may well go with both he and Grammy , when it was pretty obvious we needed a bit more pace or whatever in the run and carry dept last year c/f Geelong
It always will comes back to "horses for courses" on a weekly basis then availability but we will be in a stronger position with the likes of these guys ... (Geary Eddy Peake etc) as they hopefully improve over time

He looked good last night with efforts to break the lines and also with some spirited tackling. I feel it was his best game in the Saints jumper that I have seen.

Needs to keep his feet in contests and be much smarter with his disposal. I've also noticed the only place he runs with the ball is right along the boundary line. His pace doesn't do much damage when he's positioned so far wide.

That said, he has some upside and currently more effective than Eddy or Heyne.

Definitely more effective than Heyne on Friday night.

Strange statement. How could it change the run of the game when Richmond hadn't scored a goal at that stage.

Think his lack of left foot is his biggest concern, I saw the ball he centred on the left and it wasnt bad, unfortunately he has no confidence in it whatsoever, the week before he completely missed his first attempt on the left and refused to try again. Hopefully he keeps backing his skills when he needs the left as it is the difference between him keeping his spot or not for me.

Same could be said for Gilberts right I suppose? He needs to know when he has to use it, obviously many other strings to Gilbos game though.

Maybe this year?

Thought Friday was his best game and a Richmond supporter i was there with made the comment he played well. Watched him and notice he was not picked up at stoppages by Richmond at all which wasinteresting. His biggest test is when he has someone pay attention to him and if he is able to work hard all game to still contribute.
