When Riewoldt comes back in the side, playing Stanley is a much better option than Kosi. The guy has completely lost confidence in his abilities and his efforts around the ground are absolutely lacking.

One of the main facets of 'Saints Footy' is getting a game based on merit and work-ethic, and no longer about what your surname is.

We can't just assume that when roo comes back kosi will automatically return to form. Nothing over the past couple of weeks suggests that he would do any better against a teams 2nd second defender compared to their 1st.

Horrible situation, i really do love the bloke. But what else can you do?

I don't believe Stanley is currently capable of taking strong contested marks - the job that Kosi is supposed to be doing.

Stanley is just not physically able yet - he needs a couple more pre-seasons to bulk up if that's ultimately his role.

Agreed.

Kosi plays a different and vital role when Roo is in the side. There is no way known Stanley is going to bust packs open....he could jump over them, but not through them.

4-6 more weeks he hopes, that's what Nick Riewoldt said on the Fox telecast. Hasn't started kicking yet, but will be soon.

Well I thought it was poetic that in the last minute of the game Kosi and Stanley both went for the same mark and Rhys out-marked him.

Stanley in our future.
More and more I think Kosi is finished.

Rhys has to stay in the big league till Nick returns - if nothing else than to speed up his development.

Is a nice foil in the forward line, and could be played across half back if need be. Infact I was suprised he wasnt moved to CHB and Fisher to FB (I would have) when Zac went off the ground for a while - although at that point Gwilty really stood up and become a real prominent player on the ground.

I'm glad he didn't, the last thing we want to do is go back to the mix-and-match. We look much better with a stable backline and a stable forward line.

Goddard is our Mr. Versatile, so he can move forward or back without messing with the structure.
