Llyod also said that Dogs were the team to beat.
Llyod is an ex-player in the media and knows that "headlines for sale" will get him more gigs, and give him and edge over the numerous other ex-coaches/players wanting to dine out on the media trough.
His opinion is expressed without any detailed knowledge of Roo's status and condition.
Someone also forgot to tell Rodan that you can not come bacj early and play well.
LLyod is just guessing like everyone.
No one knows at what level Nic will come back at + say 6 games.

In his defence he was asked a question by a Saints supporter on how we would go for the rest of the year. He said we couldnt win it and gave the reason as Rooy probably not being able to get back to his best. Its only his opinion so who really cares.saintsRrising wrote:Llyod also said that Dogs were the team to beat.

Hey, Don't get me wrong I am not knocking the guy. I am just understanding that he is is now in the business of "Instant Opinion and Answers".plugger66 wrote:In his defence he was asked a question by a Saints supporter on how we would go for the rest of the year. He has to earn a living by other means now and this can bea very lucrative way to do so. Good luck to him.
However does not mean I will agree with said opinions 100%.

They were actually pretty much the same age.SaintSimmo wrote:pfft, is a wannabe journo, dont care what the tosser says, he is just speculating because he did a similar injury when he was about 54 years old.
Roo is in his prime, easy recovery and the hyperbaric chamber will help,as he is pretty much living there.
Yes, learn the facts: Lloyd kicked 8 goals two weeks before he did it.plugger66 wrote:They were actually pretty much the same age.SaintSimmo wrote:pfft, is a wannabe journo, dont care what the tosser says, he is just speculating because he did a similar injury when he was about 54 years old.

Roo will be fine when he gets back.
I'm more concerned about the damage we do to our premiership chances in the meantime.
We need to be within striking distance.
The skipper deserves that much at least. In fact he deserves a whole lot more.
So pull your fingers out Sainters. Prove to us that you are not a one man side.

Which is a completely different thing....
Completely different thing.
A sore finger? No!
Let me know when you snap a tendon in your finger and let me know how long it takes you to come back. I snapped mine about 7 years ago, unfortunatley i dont have the access to the best surgeons in the land, but i still cant straighten my finger or bend half my finger from a snapped tendon.....
I reckon 7 weeks would be perfect, i have had this shitty finger for 7 years.
It is a common injury... I know Pratt has done it, Daniel Chick and a saint recently (Maxy?)

He is yet to return.

Is this the same Lloyd who predicted at 1/2 time in the Dogs game that they would go on to roll us by more than 40 points?

Why would anyone seriously take any commentators opinion in to account? Especially ex-players with strong allegiances to other clubs.
The only 3 that I believe manage to stay impartial and are great to listen to are Matthew Richardson, Tom Harley and at times, James Hird. Their comments and insight into the game are brilliant. No hysteria, just the facts. We all know where their allegiances lie, but I don't have them forced down my throat when I listen to them.
We have to remember AFL media is very much opinion based. It is a cut-throat, multi-million dollar industry that they want to keep their jobs in. Their opinions are not fact, they are just opinions. We all know how good our team is and that they will rebound. The opinion of Lloyd or anyone else outside of the club is not important.
I have kept the radio off for most of the week and I have ignored the newspapers and my sanity is the better for it.

And fair enough I say. We are nowhere near a flag team at the moment. With that in mind the season is long and no team is up for the entire season so hopefully this is our team to regroup and push our way back into form and confidence.matrix wrote:we're out to 10 bucks for the flag now
get on us i say......
If the finals were to begin now Geelong would romp it in against anyone.
