Come on forumites - I'm begging you - put my mind at ease. It's impacting my ability to eat the 1/2 kilo of left over pasta that I brought in for lunch.

Carlton aint that good their midfeild wil be almost like for like with ours so the contest there will almost be a draw .... but its down back where the differances are ... Carlton have got nothing to stop Milne and if Kosi gets a sniff they will really be in big strife cause there isnt anyone who could match up on him.... as for their forward line they have lots of fast flashy types in Betts and Yarran but questions are often asked on their ability to lock the ball in their zone .. they will have to play a more defencive forward game other wise our rebound out of the back line will set up far too many goals for them to keep up .....
it should be a good game cant wait to see CJ vs Judd ...

"Kruezer wins it easily out of the throw in again - jeez, King is looking tired! - ball won clear by Judd, there go the after-burners! Judd, splintering kick to half-foward - Yarran!! Whoa! Carlton are all over St Kilda in the second quarter!!" "Yes, they just look too fast don't they Tim..."

I think it matters alot.degruch wrote:If we lost, would it matter? We're 5-1, round 7.
Losing tonight would officially have us in a slump.
A poor loss to Port.
A stolen win against the Dogs.
A loss to Carlton.
That in 3 weeks isn't good.
But....a win tonight and history says we've won 2 of the past 3 with the 1 loss being a close one interstate.
Tonight is a critical game for us. Absolutely critical.

I'm not expecting a loss, but our previous Carlton games used to boil down to a high scoring shoot-out, from memory. I'm not sure either side is capable of maintaining that this week, so we may find ourselves in uncharted waters.
Also note, Carlton's defense is not as bad as it used to be.
Should be interesting, but I won't be stressing if we lose.

We've been average for the past 2. A loss tonight would mean we've been ordinary for 3 weeks and only luck preventing us from being on a 3 game losing streak.
How's this? It's been 1385 days since they last beat us.
Oh and Hayes, Montagna, Dal Santo & Jones > Judd, Gibbs, Murphy and Joseph.
And lastly, we have the Blake.

If we play as badly tonight as we did in general play against Footscray, we will lose.
Our skills were appalling last Friday.
I beleive the consecutive 6 day breaks were a major reason for our tardy performance, but another like that tonight and I wont be so forgiving.

Depends on whether you see last weeks gutsy triumph as a limp wristed fluke, I s'pose.rodgerfox wrote:??degruch wrote:A loss tonight would still a one game slump, no matter how you look at it.rodgerfox wrote:???degruch wrote:A one game slump. I don't think it has to be that black or white.
It definitely wasn't limp wristed in terms of effort.
In terms of execution, it was pathetic.
So although we're trying and having a crack, for 2 weeks in a row we've looked like a bottom 4 side in many areas.
And the scoreboard has reflected this.
If we're not in a slump now, we're deadset rooted if we do go into one at some stage this year.
