Do you know 1 of the 4,000

Post: # 918642Post saintbrat »

With 4,000 2009 members yet to resign,
http://www.saints.com.au/season2010/new ... fault.aspx

this would actually seem to be a better 'churn' rate than usual- which shows great work by the St Kilda Team- on and off field.

generally 5-7,000 per club.

I realise that many people have specific reasons, and have read of some who are greatly dissapointed by the club for individual reasons.

BUT it actually means we are nearly 10,000 ahead of last year.

now to get that extra 1,000 members- :)

Just a gentle suggestion- Not to get backs up and turn them off

'maybe a 3 game membership would suit you better'
"still 7 home games you can get to and One is at the MCG '
'take the kids along- Only $40 for them and they get into all games not just Home..'

'unlike the Pies 3 game membership you get to CHOOSE your 3 games and not locked into particular ones."

I think the 3 game membership is brilliant. Suits interstate people, cause take out the cost of the game you get and its really not much more and it helps the Saints.

So come on peeps, get yourself one

If an individual decided to take out a family membership, would they be included in the 4000?

without knowing exact breakdowns But going on previously known figures)
Current Membership)- 38,977 ( May 4th
- 29,522
= 9, 455

MEMBERSHIP 2009 - 33,522 ( saints.com.au)
Less - 4,000 not signed
= 29,522

2009 - 31,906 (AFL figure )
Less 4,000 not signed
= 27,906

Current Membership)- 38,977 ( May 4th 2010
AFL figure- 27,906
= 11,071

given differential for NON game memberships would be roughly 2,000 ( as per 33000 down to 31,000) it's still atleast 9,000 + up on last year.

isn,t the interstate membership better? Free entry to the games in your home state plus 5 home games in Victoria for just on $100

I'm 1 of the 4000, havn't been to a game yet with 2 interstate, a cricket trip away and the 2 kids playing footy but I will be there to reactivate my membership Monday night. That just leaves 3999.

Wake me up when September ends.

Well if my dad wasn't a retard and told the club his new card number when it expired we'd only need another 3,998. I plan to buy a membership soon, probably just a 3 game one as most of the time I buy kids tix and go with mates :D

If you can get to 5 games, its better, also the membership pack is better. But for people who are watching their money, the 3 games membership is great and you still get the free game in your state.

Maybe some of the 4000 are people unhappy with the GF ticketing last year. Have heard of a few long term members who were very disappointed. Its amazing how many people were not aware that a normal membership did not give them Grand Final ticket access.

We added two new members this year...I added my husband with a three gamer (he will be lucky to go to one or two - two a year is his usual and has already been to the Sydney one). The three gamer is a good deal for $75 for those on a budget who are likely to only go to a couple of games but who want to support the Saints. They are counted as members in the stats and also have finals ticket entitlement (but not the GF obviously).
I think many people who bought these would be people who may not otherwise have signed up at all due to finances or other weekend commitments stopping them getting to many games. This way at least the club is getting some extra money. $75 is better than nothing. My older son and I are social club members.
I also bought my nephew a toddler membership. Checked with the guy that these are counted as well. He doesn't really have a team but was playing footy with my son and I asked my sister in law if I could sign him up. Given that I'd be the person most likely to ever take him to games, its great I've signed him up young (3)...hopefully another lifelong Sainter.

My bludger of a son is one...he's only 20 months old, but I told him if he doesn't start earning his keep I wouldn't renew his membership. Now, if I could just teach him to say St Kilda...

Sing it- long and loud or soft- they respond best to Rhyme, and rythm
replay last weeks version at the end of the game- Lenny and BJ were right into it.

My two and a half year old is in love with the song and the moment and can often be heard just bursting into the Saints song, singing it to himself. Makes lots of people laugh. He loves watching the song at the end of games, particularly Baker making a face at the camera (he calls him funny man), and picking out the players he knows. BJ, Kosi and Lenny seem to be his new favourites in the absence of his favourite in Roo. Last weeks song has been his favourite so far....he loves how BJ jumps up in the air and keeps copying it.

maybe all the interest rate rises have knocked some supporters out of the running.....

Contrary to what governments think....people do not have a bottomless supply of ready cash.....when families have to cut back ...luxuries go first..

An AFL membership is a luxury.....

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

I know 2 and I respect their decision. Being in their 70's and living in one of the worst places for public transport in the city made it difficult for them to get home from games.

I wouldn't be surprised if a fair proportion of the 4000 are elderly.

I know a family and they are going to buy a 3 game family membership.

Does that count as 4 or 1?

With respect to the point made by 'Saintnick 12' about the availability of GF tickets...

I've been an 'ordinary' 11-game member for a few years now and admittedly was pretty upset that i couldn't purchase a ticket to the GF last year thorugh the club. I was previously unaware of the privileges that are attached to the Social Club membership (other than fre entry to the Victory Room!!), and resorted to buying a GF packlage through another club in order to get a GF ticket (with mates). bit disappointed about that.

As a consequence of the whole mess, i was intent on spending the extra $$ necessary to purchase a social club membership this year... however was i was dumbfounded when told that this wasn't possible due to the limited social club memerbships available... here i was, desperate to pay approx $200 extra to my football club and they wouldn't take it!!!! I was shocked. The situatino of a not-for-profit club turning away $$ beggars belief.

IMO, the fact that the club has to turn away $$ from members who want to pay up just doesn't make any commerical sense...

This being said i have no idea of how to fix the situation but capping a membership category, IMO, just isnt' right... that's my opinion..., any one have any thoughts on how to fix this ridiculous situation???

Go Saints!!! - Just "Kick it to Kosi"

If they don't cap the social club membership then people who have been social club members for many years & not just during the "good" times would quite possibly miss out on tickets to the GF. How is that fair? The club are only guaranteed 11500 GF tickets so that's what they've capped the social club membership at.

Another opportunity awaits!
