Just praying it's not a case of 'where there's smoke.....'

If the worst happened, taking the fast way down to the ground floor (ie, out the window) would look like a pretty good option to me. I just couldn't bare the thought!!

Hoping this is just the punters out there laying the bet on an off chance, being oppurtunistic.

I gotta have faith that the club will be ok and hasnt been involved in anything that will get us in trouble.

betting agencies being cautious

i'd be tempted to throw 50 on us at 1000 to 1 on the very slight possibility we were done

Not the worst idea.

If this was true and worst case scenario eventuates (I don't even want to type it) it'd be nice to pay off a few debts of my own.

But surely surely this is nothing.

Surely...

Animal Enclosure, please don't think i was telling you to f*** off either, I was just saying that.

Even if there was something wrong during that time, it cannot affect our points for this year.
Storm were $700,000 over this year, that's why they've been rubbed out for this year.

We have an entire new off-field structure in place in comparison to what we had then. If the man allegedly responsible for the Storm's issues is somehow part of any wrong doing with us well...it was 6 years ago and no substantial action will be taken. The AFL has a history of fining teams and docking draft picks et al however nothing knee-jerk like the NRL will take place.

In the end the NRL is a game for nuffies run by nuffies. Whether we like the head(s) of our sport or not. They have the business acumen and pedigree built on succeess. A decision will be rational if and when another team is found to have cheated on the cap knowingly or mistakenly.

As they say, a fool and his money are easily parted.

Even if the worst case scenario plays out and Waldron was doing the same here, I do not believe this season would be touched by the AFL.

Reasons being that the Storm were in breach of their 2010 salary cap by $700k , there would be no contract at ST Kilda for the 2010 season that Waldron had anything to do with.

Secondly, if we were up to no good when Waldron was in charge, substitute his name for John Elliot and think what Carlton copped. The penalty would be a massive fine and a lot of draft picks.

So if we are now second favs for the spoon, what are the odds of us making the 8 and GF?

I have a good feeling we will make the 8 at least and it might blow out to 10 bucks before too long. Might out a lazy $100k on it

Exactly. Sports Bet are already seeking compensation from the Storm fiasco, so they're just playing it super safe.

It is just speculators who thought why not...

Absolutely nothing in it...

Just as there is nothing in any "issues" left over from Waldrons Days.

It has already ALL been previously investigated. If there was any dirt that could come out it would already have been found.

Now.... if I could just get odds on the Saints winning the premiership and the wooden spoon in the same season..... a win on a $10 stake should see me happily retire.

I'm getting a bad feeling about all this.

Time to take a break from the madness.
