Who makes way for Kosi?
Just wondering who everyone thinks will come out of the team to make way for Kosi?
Peake was pretty quiet this week but do we sacrifice a runner? Clarke's just come back in the team after a few good weeks in the VFL so i'd think he'd be given time possibly?

was thinking the same, maybe one more week for mini (take experience over to adelaide).Bernard Shakey wrote:Zac has just played his best game for the year, but I agree he should make way for Kosi.
While we're at it, if Jack Steven had another good one at Sandy today, I think Mini might be in danger.

really? I think he is enjoying this more and more. Developing a very dangerous team that can score from anywhereSaintSimmo wrote:What game were you watching mate??Bernard Shakey wrote:Zac has just played his best game for the year, but I agree he should make way for Kosi.

I'd have to say Dawson as he's struggled to win his position in the backline and isn't all that convincing as a key forward. I'm confident our backline would stand up just fine with Blake, Fisher, Gilbert, Gwilt, Baker and Geary.
Kosi coming in would give us a forward structure of Kosi, Milne, Schnieder and McQualter as permanent forward with support coming from Goddard and Fisher as marking options and an injection of class with resting midfielders like Hayes, Dal Santo and Armitage.
The heat would also be on McQualter, Peake and perhaps Ray but they'll hold their spot for now. A few big VFL games from Jack Steven would put some real pressure on this trio to lift. They've all performed well enough in patches but have lack consistency.

The one at Docklands this evening, where we beat the WA team. Why do you ask?SaintSimmo wrote:What game were you watching mate??Bernard Shakey wrote:Zac has just played his best game for the year, but I agree he should make way for Kosi.

Zac or Raph.
I'm not sure Raph did enough today to hold his spot.
Having said that Zac has been ordinary for most of the year, I'd like to see Gaertner get promoted and have a crack down back sooner rather than later.

I think Zac is in real danger. I really want him to be a gun full back for us (or at least get to the level of last year) but he's just not firing

So Zac is the new whipping boy, nothing new. Well I am going to stick up for the boy. First he is a confidence player, and that is obviously down at the moment. Last week he had 4 frees paid against him, 3 were not there.
Master stroke of Ross to put him on the forward line tonight, I thought he did very well. Maybe watch the replay and you will see he had a hand in 3 goals, so credit where credit it due.
No he didn't set the world on fire, but I think there were others who had a worse game tonight.

I think he really needs to work on his kicking. Fox Sports showed some footage of his ball drop. He drops it above his hips, almost kicks like a girl.Saint Bev wrote:So Zac is the new whipping boy, nothing new. Well I am going to stick up for the boy. Also he needs to build up some muscle he is 24, so he is quite weak for his age, looks like a bag of bones.
The problem isnt mind its the skill. He knows how beat the forward, just needs the strength. He has a decent footy brain just can not execute.

Agreed. He was great last year, he needs to recreate that form.SaintSimmo wrote:I think he really needs to work on his kicking. Fox Sports showed some footage of his ball drop. I don't think anyone is denying that he played a hand up forward today, but he is supposed to be our full back.Master stroke of Ross to put him on the forward line tonight, I thought he did very well. Maybe watch the replay and you will see he had a hand in 3 goals, so credit where credit it due.

Yep, you're right Bev. There always seems to be a player in the firing line on this site. Leave Zac alone. He's been part of the bset backline in the comp for over a season now. His form has been fair, the teams undefeated, what more can you ask for ?
OUT" Peake

Well, it's probably going to be one of Raph, Peake or Zac, with Gwilt an outside chance.
If Lyon feels that Raph could play ok on the wing, then Peake could go. Otherwise, it would probably be Zac. Whoever it is, it'll be a shame.
I don't get the Drop McQualter for Steven campaign. McQualter was good last night IMO. Really, the "play the kids" mantra is way out of place when we are 4-0, but - in the absence of our superstar- need all the experience we can muster for the next few games.

Someone has to be dropped for Kosi and if it aint Zac who should it be.Saint Bev wrote:So Zac is the new whipping boy, nothing new. Well I am going to stick up for the boy. For mine there is a choice of 3 that could be dropped. But I'm not stupid, I not going to say on here and get torn to threadsplugger66 wrote:Someone has to be dropped for Kosi and if it aint Zac who should it be.Saint Bev wrote:So Zac is the new whipping boy, nothing new. I'm actually interested to hear what all these Zac-attackers expect from him?
He beat McPhee comfortably in the first quarter and a half, was then moved forward, had three goal assists and could have snagged a couple himself if he was luckier. Everytime he touched the ball in the forward half it was effective. Certainly gave us more than McQualter or Peake and was significantly more effective up forward than Fisher or Blake were.
Kosi will come in at the expense of Peake you would think. While Steven would be breathing down McQualter's neck, but I can't see Mini missing out just yet.
