Statement issued by the St Kilda Football Club this evening:
In response to the statement issued by the Collingwood Football Club arising out of the quarter time break during Friday night’s match against Collingwood, St Kilda Football Club advises that due to Mick Malthouse’s apology it will not make an official complaint to the AFL regarding his conduct.
Stephen Milne accepts the apology that has been made by Mick Malthouse and acknowledges that his comments to an opposition coach were inappropriate.
As far as the St Kilda Football Club is concerned the matter is now over and no further comment will be made.

Translation:
It was only after the match that I realised I'd been caught out and could be in a lot of trouble.
I now find myself in a position where my club has directed me to make this insincere apology, as any sensible person would understand that a coach of 27 years should have more integrity than to behave this way.
Although I have been made to apologise I want to say that "he started it", and furthermore the Collingwood football club will now try to deflect fault by graciously not taking the incident any further with the AFL, an action which would bring myself under further scrutiny.
As there is nothing that can be said that can possibly make myself or the club look good in regard to this incident, we will now keep our mouths shut and hope it all goes away.

The best part is, we don't have to do anything. AFL have to take a stand, what he did was totally wrong. If they don't do anything then it leaves it open for Coaches to say and do what they want.
I totally agree with lets move on, if the AFL want to fine him and media want to have a go at him. So be it. Maybe next time he will think twice before opening his big mouth and following it up with a lie.

malthouse is a douche and the saints certainly come out of this this victors on and off the field. mick's actions have made himself look like a douche and pretty much the entire media have sided with the saints.samoht wrote:It's not about what we as fans think - the AFL will decide now and Milney's acceptance of a (forced) apology may or may not be taken into account here.
I'd rather personally move on too - we should be above MM and co.
so no need to get on our high horses and carry on about it (but yeah afl will most likely fine him anyways).
Forgot about that, they couldn't lie straight in bed.markp wrote:And to think, Mick claimed to have lost respect for Roo because he said Ball had a contract on the table....
Been quite a few incidences over the years when they have told porky pies when you think about it.

Collingwood chief executive Gary Pert said the club's leaders decided Shaw and Didak did not deserve to play for the club.
"When you have two of your key players looking the president, the coach and their own teammates in the eye and actually lying to them, it really destroys the essence of the club," Pert told reporters.
"It was decided by the leadership group that these two players actually don't deserve to wear the Collingwood Football Club jumper and that's why they're not playing for the rest of the season."

Milne calling Malthouse old is simply wrong.
Milne should be more accurate in future.
Everyone knows Malthouse is really ancient.
Malthouse is right to be upset, it could lead to him being excluded from his seniors benefits, tax rebates and being expelled from his aged care home.

Maybe the logical thinking is MM doesn't deserve to coach the club !!!
