I saw the footage of Luke Ball during the immediate post-game celebrations by the Saints players and we supporters. Maybe it was the calming effect of good Irish whiskey but the old Jiggster became a wee bit more reflective, and I couldn't help thinking of what must have been going through Luke Ball's mind at those moments. How he must have felt I can only guess, but it must have hurt to think that he could well have been a part of a famous victory, ground out by guts and determination, and instead is part of a very flawed side lacking in any sort of moral fibre.
Not that I shed any tears for him. He made his choice.
He got what we wanted
$$$$$$$$$ and more $$$$$$$$$
He obviously values that more than achieving team success with
the club that groomed him,
the player group that befriended him and worked with him for common success,
and the supporter group that showed him unquestioning loyalty.
Quite happy if he gets a few gloating text messages on Sep 25th
The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!
Watching on TV, I must say I was slightly disappointed more players didn't go up to him and give him a genuine pat on the back after the game. The only payer they showed do it was Lenny, we all know he is pure class, I just wish that the others (at least the ones that were mates with him for his time at the club) could have shown the same respect.

Respect has to be earned. He lost ALL respect the moment he tossed aside the St Kilda football club in search for more money and more game time. He was told that by the coach he was a required player at our club. Don't get me wrong, he is entitled to make the decision to move on, but when you have players that bleed for this club and have taken significant pay cuts to be a part of this journey, don't come on here telling me they should go pat him on the back! Would you expect Lenny to pat Roo on the back after a win if he had left us for a much more lucrative contract at the Gold Coast? Luke Ball must now reap what he has sown.
Even more disappointing was the fact that he was a part of our core group that made the pact to be part of this journey and then turned his back on us. I cannot boo him, but I won't be patting him on the back or wishing him well either.
Just because the TV didn't show players going over to LB doesn't mean they didn't. But he is not one of us anymore and that was his choice.
I feel this is a decision he is starting to regret. You only have to look at his face. And lets face it (no pun intended) the media have shown plenty of him, he doesn't look like a man who is happy with his decision.
He said on Before the Game that a few of the guys came over to him. Not sure if this is true. Certainly not shown on any of the footage I saw, but may have just been missed in all the other drama of the game.
I was at the game and was too excited and singing the song to be paying any attention to Luke Ball.
Nearly every player shook his hand after the NAB cup win...his first game against us, so maybe they feel like that had been done already. THey had just played such a high intensity and very difficult game. I'm sure Luke Ball was the last thing on their minds.

Maybe the players not going out of their way to find him and pat haim on the back tells us how they feel about him/his situation?
Maybe they don't regard him as being worthy of being treated as a 'mate' by being part of a Collingwood match tactic of 'roughing us up'.
He chose to go to Collingwood.
He's one of the Filth now.
Why should the Saints treat him any better than the other Filth players.
Afterall, very few of them actually had a choice about being a Filth player - they were drafted without any sayso, unlike Luke Ball.
Ball chose them over 15 other Clubs.
That's where his heart is now.
His former teammates (mates?) owe him nothing more than the 'respect' they offer any other opposition player.
Did Ball refuse to tell the Collingwood coaching panel any tips on our gameplan and setups in respect of his former mates at St Kilda?
Did he object when the tactics of targetting Clinton Jones were discussed?
Did he object when the tactics of targetting other Saints players were discussed?
But our players should go out of their way to make him 'feel good'?
True he played a part on the wrong side of a famous victory for the saints... but one must ask would he truly have taken part in in such a victory if he were still at the club?
I actually enjoyed his expression as he stood just behind his coach as Malthouse lost control and called Milne a "f##king rapist".
It was priceless. Something like WTF have I come to?
Deserves nothing less.
Walked out on his mates, allowed his camp and his coach to vilify the Saints, our coach, and captain, and then wonders why nobody wanted to shake his hand after the game.
I loved it when Armo steamrollered over the top of him and Ball got pinged for a high tackle.
I am happy with our midfield compared to Collingwoods and he was probably remembering when he was not the only mid doing the heavy lifting while recievers with absurd tatts looked for the easy and cheap kicks.

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

He missed two easy shots from 40 metres on Friday night, the second not even making the distance.
He turned it over directly twice for two St.Kilda goals.
Armo, Steven, and Geary are better at doing what RL wants and therefore he would be sulking at Sandy like last year.
My opinion. You can argue with it, but thats my opinion.
Still, he walked out on his amtes and wouldn't do the work required, so he gets what he deserves.
