Reconciliation meeting tonight between Saints/Pies
Source:Ch 7 news
Greg Westaway has been reported as saying that they want to avoid an AFL investigation.
Eddie Maguire is hoping the matter can be resolved.
Saints are looking for an apology from Malthouse.
Pies are looking for an acknowledgement from Milney that he was part of it.
Expect 90,000 at the G in Round 16.
Sheeds would be proud.

Unless Milne made an initial equally slanderous comment, they should gratefully grab the opportunity to apologise unreservedly, and move the hell on.

+1 Agree gee Collingwood be happy also that it has taken the attention off one Leigh Brown time to move on we do not need this distraction!thejiggingsaint wrote:Sounds like a common sense solution to me. The Club need to maintain their strong stance of defending our player. At the same time if the Collingwood Football club are prepared to accept their responsibilities in this mess, then all parties can make peace and move on, as mature adults should be able to.
I think that Milney (and all our players) should be defended, and if push comes to shove and the conciliation is not upholding that principle, then we should go all the way. But if an opportunity to achieve an honourable settlement presents itself, then we are bound to explore the possibilities.

Best to get it dealt with and put behinds us so that Milney can concentrate on next week's game. With Roo out we need all our remaining forwards up and firing and therefore can't afford to have Milne distracted all week with this Malthouse nonsense.

slightly amused at eddie this morning saying " why would the saints want to drag this out" so nothing about HIM resolving it---- or it being a distraction for them
Good on the saints for pushing- even if they do accept an apology-
media is still coming down on the side of the Saints...

Malthouse and Eddie dont admit they are wrong in anything.
That's why no-one has respect for either.
Intelligent men, who lower themselves because they think they can never do wrong.
.....What's that about 'respect' Mick? How about you just stick to discussing 'ignorance', 'stupidity' & 'dishonesty'.... Things you clearly excel at.

It's a non-player disrepute issue. Surely the AFL should just act regardless of what the two clubs bang out behind a boardroom door.
In fact, I can't recall a more obvious example of so blatantly bringing the game into to disrepute. But no...Collingwood gets to trample all over the petunias by blaming the petunias for being under its feet. What crap.

Well I suppose they were players once too and players use whatever methods available to put their opponents off. Malthouse was a shocker.spert wrote:What a shocking example to set your players -a senior coach and assistant verbally abusing the opposition on camera.

Was Buckley a witness.suss wrote:Buckley must be loving this.
He would tell every word that Malthouse and Licuria said.
Did anyone else notice how Malthouse has Licuria sitting next to him in the box.
Consulting Licuria all the time, with Buckley consigned to the extra row.
Licuria is not even listed in the Football record as a Collingwood coach.
Buckley is not even the midfield coach.
Mark Neeld has that job.
Collingwood coaching staff from the AFL Record Season Guide 2010
Mick Malhouse (senior)
Nathan Buckley (forward)
Paul Hudson (opposition)
Mark Neeld (midfield)
Scott Watters (defence)
Max Hudghton (defence part-time)
Gavin Brown (VFL coach)
David Buttifant (sports science director)
Luke Beveridge (development manager)
Licuria is not even on the Selection Committee
Only Max from the first seven is missing from that, Geoff Walsh chief of football is the seveth member of the panel.

Luke Darcy
Yeah we noticed that decent human being Darcy and how wrong you always seem to be.
http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/ ... fault.aspxThe idea was that if Licuria - renowned for being an incredibly decent human being - felt empathy, he wouldn't be able to compete as hard.

Maybe Licuria is the goal kicking coach.

and whats all this crap about Malthouse conceding ground and admitting that he called Milne a "pest"
FFS
I think it's pretty clear now, the point has been made, the incident has grabbed the headlines, if it goes no further it doesnt matter - it's drawn attention to what really happened and what was said and not too many out there would doubt the "credible" account - the account that drew attention to the issue in the fist place...
