Saw him break away from the Pies huddle and run over to Roo to wish him all the best..clearly a classier bloke than his Coach or runner

Mores the pity he didnt then run down to his Cheer Squad and bang a few heads together

I agree with saints66au. Some of us need to remember that there is a game of footy going on out there, and sometimes things happen that players from both teams may not be proud of, or are out of character. TRue character is shown when after the battle is finished and players look each other in the eye, wish each other well, and move on.

I too saw Maxwell approach Roo and thought it was a nice gesture, rather than the childish suggestion that he was just trying to get his head on TV.

Put it into perspective.
Barry Hall shakes hands with opponents after the game is over. It doesn't make him a good guy either.

Agreed, Maxwell's interview was classless and paid no credit to St Kilda. It was all about Collingwood losing the game.

Give Nick Maxwell Credit? What for? He is nothing but a whining little pratt.

Remember his whinging on Before the Game on Ch 7 last year? He was complaining about the Tigers being more interested in physical confrontations than the football. Here is his quote about the Tigers, word for word on the topic:

"That's the way they decided to go, but I thought it was pretty average considering we couldn't fight back and considering they weren't prepared, a few of their blokes, to put their head over the ball when it counted."

Then there were the comments he made today in regards to Milne being a sniper and he should learn to accept what he dishes out. However, I did not see Milne calling anyone a rapist and then denying it point blank in a media conference.

Wonder if he will have as ferocious words to say about his own coach tomorrow?

Nah! he only wanted to find out if Riewoldt was going to be able to play in round 16 and this year's finals.

This guy is the leader of maggotpies.

I'll give him credit when he condemns his coach Malthouse and assistant coach Licuria's behaviour and condemns his own president McGuire for not calling his own investigation into what was said.

Until then he is the yellow bellied coward who waits behind the man on the mark until the umpire calls play on before blindsiding the man.
He is the cowardly captain who uses his permission to talk to the media to denigrate opposition players knowing they are gagged from responding.

Maxwell, Malthouse, Maguire...triple embarrassment.
Maxwell's role as captain in the well-oiled Magpies media machine is to undermine opposition at every opportunity. He's media savvy and has his commentary cameos and guest roles and takes aim with gutless snipes that put Milney to shame.
It's all about deflecting attention away from a club that could soon be in crisis - Bucks must be chaffing at the bit.
In the few seconds Maxwell had post siren with Roo he showed his sensitive, care, sharing side managing to squeeze in a question about how many weeks does Roo think he'll be out?!!
Collingwood are crap no matter what they say.

was a skit on the new Ch 7 show ' The Bounce'
Maxwell was in on the sting- started selling used footy gear from his car boot and got Steele to help him- then along came the police and Maxwell left

it was all a set up but young Steele didn't know that.
