Would think McEvoy is ahead of Stanley at this stage and Raph might come into the picture and either play up forward or down back so we can send Fisher/Goddard up there. Hard to swap like-for-like with Roo as there is nobody like him and we will have to rejig the structure in any case, quite possible we will go smaller before Kosi comes back

Well Roo is one spot.SainterK wrote:Agree Ross will probably re-jig the squad, personally think no-one should be dropped after that gutsy win.
Zac is seriously out of form though. If Raph has another good game he may be back for Zac.
Up forward..Cahaill, Stanley and even Patoo and Ben all have their chance to put up their hands on Sunday.
Given Roo will be out for a while aplayer that can compliment Kosi would be good.
Lynch out injured and so cannot be him.
Cahill and Stanley have the chance to impress.

Zac was terrible tonight but the thing he has on everyone in the seconds in height. No way can raph play on a tall like Cloke. Zac will be played pretty much what ever happens.saintsRrising wrote:Well Roo is one spot.SainterK wrote:Agree Ross will probably re-jig the squad, personally think no-one should be dropped after that gutsy win.

There's rumours of Zac losing weight before the season through sickness,I'm not sure if it's true, but he certainly looks a shadow of his former self. Anyone know the truth?
Last year he looked quite bulky, and capable of mixing it with the big guys. This year,he looks like a stick who is not capable of playing full back

Bring back the Lockett era

Given Freos forward set up I don't think we need an out of form Zac.plugger66 wrote:

jimmy g looks great in defence, but he's not a forward. i've just started to like him, i don't want to go back to bagging him.
he played forward in the first quarter last night and didn't really get near it, then went back and was very very good. his composure and skill are best suited to the back line. leave him back there and send raph forward if you must bring him in.

I pretty much agree with that. He's been given plenty of good opportunities up forward and has never really looked like it. He's starting to kick-ass down back (25+ possies again), so I'd much rather see BJ played at FF and maybe bring Raph in.bergholt wrote:NOOOOOOSainterK wrote:If I was to make an early call, Raph back in, Jimmy up forward

YOU GET WHAT YOU SETTLE FOR.
Stanley could never play CHF he would get lost. If he plays it will be FF. BJ will play on the ball and float forward. Raph has never and will never be a hff.bigcarl wrote:or, if stanley is deemed ready. goddard ff, stanley chf, raph hff, though that would leave us without a strong contested marking target such as kosi/gardiner.bigcarl wrote:gardiner to play kosi's role, goddard to play roo's. raph in to play like bj around the ground (if only).
i like the look of stanley very much but he needs goals/games on the board.

so you liked the first suggestion better plugger? just out of interest what would be your solution to restructuring the forward line without riewoldt?plugger66 wrote:Stanley could never play CHF he would get lost. i think we're going to have to play bj mainly as a forward. no one else in the team who can play tall has his goal-kicking nous.
