Injuries

Post: # 902875Post meher baba »

Riewoldt, Fisher, Joey, Dal, BJ, Lenny all injured to varying degrees.

Perhaps we should sack Misson and bring back "training services".

(or, seriously, perhaps luck plays a big part in these things....?)

Just a little.

Adversity brings opportunity.

We have some players that we have been keen to look at.

Seriously, it sounded like a lot of players on both sides had treatment for various sorts of leg injuries.

Has the Dome surface gone to seed again?

Seriously, we've had a fair run...

Eight weeks is my guess. Looked high which sucks, but he's an absolute pro and he'll do everything right to rehab.

Stanley, Kosi and McEvoy... Stand up gents!

Channel 7 did everything to talk this up. References to Mathew Lloyd tearing his hammy off the bone and missing the year. Timmy kept saying it doesn't look good "although I don't want to be an alarmist" etc etc.

However I did note at the end of the broadcast, when Timmy was once again in the rooms saying it doesn't look good, Roo was in the background, in good spirits and without the crutches.

Until I hear otherwise I will remain optimistic that the injury is at the lower end of the scale.

im nervous as anything. we all love nick and seeing him injured just makes me sad.

just saw ross lyons press conference on the afl website. he seems pretty positive.

was asked the question: "did he tear it off the bone?". ross's response: "do you think i would be sitting here with a half smile on my face if i thought that?"

fingers crossed...

Yep, me too.

Rossy Lyon said a few weeks, didn't seemed too upset about it.

I bet Hutchy will be upset if it's a minor injury, as well as the other media tossbags....

Ross Lyon's comment was along the lines that if he was so bad would I be smiling-think there is a general feeling its a standard hammy but nothing more-fingers crossed.Great win in the meantime.

Had he tore it off the bone he wouldn't have been sitting on the bench...he'd be in surgery right now.

If they thought he'd tore it off the bone I don't think RL would have looked that happy after the game...he' of been pleased with the win, but IMO he wouldn't of been able to conceal his disappointment as he'd of know our season would have been all but gone.

The medical staff would have a fair idea, and SOS tore his off the bone years ago...IMO had they thought it was off the bone he would of been off to hospital asap.

I thought the same thing Leo. My mate kept saying to me, 'Why is Roo sitting on the bloody bench, take him to hospital if his hammy's as bad as everything we're hearing.' I'm sure the medics would have taken him straight to hospital.

Hopefully he'll only miss 4-6weeks at the most. Kosi back after next week. Time for Kos to stand tall I reckon. Similar scenario to 2005 when Roo was out injured.

Kellie Underpants on ABC radio was being the alarmist after Roo did his hammy....she was saying it looked like he'd ripped it off the bone.....

It doesn't matter to these idiots if they get it completely wrong...they think it makes for good radio...... :x

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Fair dinkum..

We largely won because we were the fitter team that ran out the game strongly.

Fitness also saw great running and aloways getting numbers at the contest.

The era you long for would have seen the teen tired and overun, players cramping up with the players all getting rub-downs at 3 quarter time.
