He's super important to us this year with Ball leaving. I want him to succeed b/c it's so important to our midfield. Dal, Lenny, BJ, Joey and CJ will all do their jobs, but against the top teams we can't keep carrying him. He simply needs to have more impact. Hardly noticed him.

May of been quiet, but laid 8 tackles and still put effort in...Sydney is always a hard test for midfielders IMO.

once he realises how strong and tough he is and believes that he belongs at this level he will be okay. i hope it is sooner rather than later.

Unless he plays poorly for a prolonged period, or there's a suitable replacement tearing it up consistently at Sandy, we've just gotta stick with Armo. He will respond to the selectors having faith in him.

He may have been around for a little while now but he's still a young man with only 20 games to his credit.

Let's not judge him too harshly just coz he's taken "whats his name's" spot.

Needs to get the ball first and make his opponent do the tackling.

That's it I think. He needs to realise he belongs at this level.

The way he puts his body about I can see him eventually being a take no prisoners type of enforcer in the Max Rooke/Campbell Brown mould.

He's an animal in his attack of the footy, he just needs to realise that what he can do is extremely valuable.

To be fair there are hardly any mids that have blinders against the swans...laid some bone crucnhing tackles and ran the game out...it was a pass rate and will get better...

armo strikes me as a player that can get complacment, and need to be under pressure to perform, wouldn't be surprised if he was dropped of a game this week to get rid of that complacement.

Would have been good for his learning experience tonight. Wasa tough pressure filled games.

8 tackles showed he was working hard.

I didnt say he played well just nothing wrong with his game. I think he is an average player that for some reason has been elevated to star status. He tackles well and kicks poorly. That is his lot.

Absolutely. Couple of mistimed tackles, but I thought he was doing more than his share of the work he's meant to be doing.

Didn't we just open our account by beating a tough nut side at their home ground? Or did we just get thumped by Melbourne? I'm starting to get a bit confused.

Pass mark from me but not a great game IMO, did tackle hard and get in and under but I wasnt overly impressed with his disposal and thought the gave away a couple of silly free kicks. Will get better.

It is pretty obvious that if a player does not get the ball there is nothing wrong with his game.

It seems that it is those players who get the ball the most who make the most mistakes and clangers.

But maybe people were not interested in what he did wrong but the fact that he did next to nothing.

He was rarely sighted.
Does anyone know his game time stats.
Was he doing a Luke Ball.
Collecting big bucks while sitting on his ar$e.

Just had a look. On par with Milne, Schneider and Peake in terms of touches. More efficient than Milne, Montagna, Dal Santo, Hayes and Geary. Eight tackles. Fifty/fifty split on contested and unconstested. Don't know what his game time was...

Pretty much Ball-like. Isn't that the idea?

But one '10 game is all the bloke should be measured on. Spill his blood. SACK HIM NOW.

You know what - yes we won, but that does that mean everyone escapes any sort of scrutiny altogether. Or do we wait until they lose and THEN completely sh*t can every player as useless to vent our frustrations? Constructive critiquing of players who haven't met expectations is still ok I reckon.

Armo has been pumped up all summer by the coaches and many supporters on here who have attended training. I'm not interested in SC statistics. I'll let my own eyes be the judge. Not sure of mini's stats or Geary's, but thought what they did was useful and had more impact. Thought that Peake, Hayes, Milne and anyone else you mentioned had more impact than Armo. I just didn't notice him, and for a midfielder I found that disappointing.

I'm not suggesting by any stretch he should be dropped, but I found his game against the doggies disappointing, and to be honest his entire NAB cup series bar the very first game. I haven't written the lad off, and can even live the clangers. I just want to see him win the ball more.

Fair enough. But if you want to ask questions, suggest they're better off being asked about McEvoy on last night's effort.

It's only Round 1. Give him a chance. He will develop. There is a lot of expectation on him. He will deliver. He is still young. CJ took time and even Dal was dropped once.

Clinton Jones has a heart 10 times bigger than Armos. Armo needs to learn from Bill Clinton Jones. Armo will be crucial for us when he lifts the work rate.
