Lost the past 2 GFs.....

But also only won 4 from the past 8. And those wins included 3 by less than 2 kicks and the other against Melbourne.

Lost to lowly Essendon, lost to woeful North, (should have lost to Melbourne), Roo beat Collingwood then beat the Dogs, Roo had a quiet one on GF day, then we beat Collingwood just, the rebuilding Swans by a point, then get pantsed by the Dogs.

Facts are, our form since we decided to flirt with it late last year, has been OK.

Nothing more, nothing less.

OK.

I think too many Saints fans are hanging their hats on this '20 straight wins' nonsense.

I wouldn't be touching the $4.20 on a Saints flag with a 10 foot clown pole.

We have huge holes. Huge holes that were band-aided by the fact we didn't have any injuries and others sides did.

I'd rather take the 10-1 on the Saints to miss the 8 than the 9-2 on a Saints flag.

And on topic, from what I heard of him, I actually thought Lloyd was pretty good.

Pathetic Faletic is what most Saints supporters called Milan.

Obviously you've never seen him play.
Once again a rash statement and assumption. That pretty much sums you up. Couldn't ask me if I have seen him play but just made the statement that obviously I have never seen him play.

Yes I have seen him play and I do know the nickname but clearly you are referring to me and not him because you can't put together something yourself.

Easy and cheap shot. Like BS which I have never used on you, or MF for me.

By the way, for what it's worth he played over 200 games in the SANFL and is a life member. Not the first player to come over from interstate and not go really well. One of current player's father played for Geelong and didn't go as well.

My main 'concern' now is that club isn't worried by our form and is still reading newspaper cuttings about our wonderful 20 straight wins.

Our off-season reinforced my concerns quite a bit.

I am fed up with you Bernard so let see what the forum thinks of you.

Copy of PM that I sent to Bernard Shakey.

While I am still recovering my chemotherapy and the residuals of my cancer, yes, I do post a lot. I am on extended leave from my work which happens to be in the media so I like to write and I love St Kilda.

This forum has been therapeutic for me. Maybe if you met me like the some of the others, you would change your tune.

You continually shadow my posts and I am sick of it. I don't swear (on the forum) and I don't personally attack anyone on the forum. If I make a mistake or a typo, I admit it. If I offend anyone, I apologise. My conscience is clear on this forum.

Get off my back and leave me alone or I will go on the forum and the last time this happened, several posters got suspended and banned. I have had several PMs, based on your previous posts to me, about you, telling me in much more colourful language what they think of you. I am on here to enjoy good discussion and debate, not stalking.

Now I've just seen you're "pathetic Faletic" comment. Of course I know what he was called. You are just using it for a cheap laugh and a feeling of superiority....."Obviously you haven't seen him play" Go away.

#I added the words (on the forum) because I did tell him to stick it up his a** in a PM.

No I am not here to feed my ego, Bernard, and most of the serious posters now have an understanding of who I am and how I feel. Even, Rodgerfox to his credit, has kept our discussions to footy and tried not to personally attack.

I didn't want to bring up the illness again, because it is now common knowledge. However, Bernard, misjudged and misinterpreted my motives for posting. If he had read the forum, he wouldn't have gone there or drawn me in to that issue again. I am really well and ready to get on with life as the forumites that I have met, will know.

Enjoy your night, Bernard.

Yep thats how clubs think. Well clubs playing e4 amatuers do anyway.

Lets face it you have no concern because you dont care about footy anymore. Well thats what you tell us.

The players really sit down and make themselves feel all warm and fuzzy by thinking about 19 wins and how cool it was.

Geez.

They are professionals, they care about trying to improve and play better footy than they did last year, they will wanna train harder and improve tactically, as will Lyon.

As plugger66 said, it's not the E grade second's.

Do you believe there's never been a player in the history of the game that has ever had a 'big head'?

You've never heard a coach say after a loss 'we underestimated them' or words to that effect?

Now it is one player. If that is the case he will eventually be ommitted and replcaed by someone who isnt ahead of himself.

The comments of a coach after a match are often made purely for the media and are spoken in cliches that do little to reflect the real reasons for a result -- much like your comments about St Kilda on this forum rodgerfox.

So yes rodgerfox, I have heard a coach use those words but I do not for a moment believe they mean anything in the context in which they are spoken.

Do individual players let their egos get ahead of them? Certainly. It's human nature.

Does losing a game of footy, even in the pre-season, make the players feel disappointed? If you've played footy, you'll know that you hate to lose, no matter whether it's a scratch match against your mates or an AFL game.

So I strongly contest your inference that the St Kilda players have become carried away and are resting on their laurels due to our win/loss ration in 2009.

I think the '09 Grand Final result put paid to that, and losses since would have also reminded the players of the need to work hard.

But they are paid professionals, they do not have to be "revved up" with grand speeches. They will work harder and train harder in order to enjoy even more success, to be paid even more money and to make an even greater contribution to the team. And if that's still not enough to motivate them, then there's a little personal pride in there too.

I don't think it was the players who were sucked in by our win/loss ratio last year.

It would appear that Matty Lloyd has a lot to answer for.

If a bit of internet banter has offended anyone I am sorry, but as far as I know, this is an internet forum and the wellbeing of participants is not immediately obvious or relevant.

"Pathetic" Faletic lived next door to my parents when he played for the Saints. If the use of the nickname that one of my brothers used to say to his face is offensive to anyone on this forum, I apologise.

Rest assured I will steer clear of any further posts by MF.

What's the point of sending a PM?
Don't answer that MF, it was a rhetorical question.

Can you pinpoint someone more specific for me then rogerfox? A member of the coaching staff, a member of the board, the supporters of the club?

2009 last challenge game we lost by port by 80 odd, we went on to win 19 games, who would have thought

our pre season form is better than it was last year. Again, dont look too much into it, it is a different game plan that we are trying just in case we need a Plan b

Matthew Lloyd struggles with brain function, but if that's what you call pretty good.

Don't answer that MF, it was a rhetorical question.
Can't help yourself can you?

Why not try being eloquent and debating issues rather than insulting people and making judgements. I don't believe you were referring to the player when you used the nickname "Pathetic" Faletic. It is my opinion that it was a back handed insult at me. Then you said obviously I have never seen him play, another judgement and incorrect. My original avatar was a pic of him, but I think he had it removed. Maybe he was embarrassed, I don't know.

However, I am not pathetic Faletic, my nickname is Milan Faletic. Nice addition of the fact that your parents lived next door to him and your brother called him that. Easy to say after the event. Personally I don't think Milan or anyone for that matter, would be thrilled about being called "pathetic" despite what you say, but that is my opinion.

To "answer" your rhetorical question, pun intended, I sent you the PM to try to keep our conflict confidential, off the forum, between us and hopefully to nip it in the bud.

I said to you in my PM if you keep going at me, I will make the PM public so everyone can see what you are.

Then you posted, that I like to post a lot and that I am posting to stoke my ego, even though you joined the forum 2 years later than me and have posted more posts than I have. That's a fact not a judgement. Yet, did I ever question your post count? You just couldn't let it rest.

When I was ill, nearly 30 posters privately and confidentially wished me well....that is the point of a PM. Some are infamous posters who are quite aggressive on the forum but were kind enough to put the weapons down for a fellow Sainter.

You made a great point in your quoted post above. It is just internet banter. So if you can't express an opinion or counterargue someone without personal attacks or abuse, the mods will tell you to leave the forum or you will be warned and/or banned.

The welfare of the posters should be immediately important because the vast majority of posters support the Saints and we all utlimately want the same thing, a premiership. So if we can't get along with our own, how will we be in the real world and with opposition supporters?

I really don't want you to "steer clear" of my posts but just stop shadowing me all the time or I may start calling you "Ven Detta". I welcome your opinion and you can argue my points until your face turns blue but to paraphrase the forum rules:

*No personal attacks or abuse of other forum members.

...and finally from a personal point of view, not related to you BS, I have campaigned against swearing on both this forum and the Facebook page and feel that I have made an impact on both.
