Gardi moved well and played maybe half the time I saw.
Heyne and Lynch were both in the play, Lynch does some really good running off the ball to make position. Another runner is Rob Eddy, covers a lot of ground and when he rotates off you can tell he's left nothing out there.
Wind caused havoc with the quality of kicking and scoring - not sure what the score was but I'd say Willy must have been about 3.10 at half time.
Tommy Walsh has great hands, stood in a pack and plucked off a mongrel high ball in one grab - then handballed to a teammmate under pressure who gave it back to Tommy who then got pinged dead in front...
Walsh played the entire first half down back.
Rhys - didn't actually notice a lot of him but he can pick the ball up at ground level, I did notice that. He finished the half with a run in the ruck.

What injury did he have?
Came off at the start of the second quarter last week and didn't reappear after a rather innocuous looking knee in the back. Probably needs to learn this is a contact sport.

Good to hear Walsh showing some progress. We could use Gardiner in Round 1. Eddy is the forgotten man, I really hope he gets back in to the team. Maybe a midfielder?
IMO it is a flow on from the GT era with the lack of core strength training, then once you sustain a hammy injury you are more likley for it to reoccur. I bet Raph still doesn't do the required squats / lunge work required.

Why would you say you think he still doesn't do them? We have the best fitness/conditioning man in the business at our club and you think he wouldn't have Raph doing the appropriate exercise!?! Ridiculous comment!!

Was it genetics or were these two sloppy with their stretching exercises earlier in their careers? They both have failed to deliver because of hamstring failures.

Why is it ridiculous he still looks a lot more developed in the upper body than the lower body as are most of the SAINTS...

Raph's run off halfback during the second half of the prelim got us into a grand final. He was also heavily responsible for us getting to the prelim in 2008.
He performs when needed and just like Jason Blake (a popular whipping boy in years gone by), he will continue to improve and then you wont be able to find anyone who will admit they used to pan him.

well...the new Bulldogs facility looks pretty good....even if there is still a bit of work to do there...the visitors change rooms were actually the toilets...another [ractice match next Saturday at Visy park Vs the Northern Bullants...
