]Yep, definately planning on sitting with the saints supporters. I just tried to get some tickets, but they were coming up down the other end near the swans cheer squad...don't want that...
I will have to call them or go into a shop I think. Thats the only annoying thing about trying to do some of these things online... what the computer thinks is a great cheap seat (ie next the swans cheersquad), is great if you're a swans supporter, but not for the saints. According to the sticky in the cheersquad thread we are in 142 so will try to get seats near there later in the week... Getting closer now...can't wait. Roll on round 1.....
I called the club today. The girl advised me that the club has yet to be advised which other seats will be theirs, but they are expecting to get their tickets next week. She said we can buy the tickets through the club. She took my details and said that someone will call me next week.
Lets see if it happens.

BTW, I also enquired as to why we have all received our memberships, except my two year old who was signed at the same time as the rest of us. She told me that there has been a hold up with the cherubs memberships due to a delay with a supplier of one of items to go in the pack. She said they will send the membership out by itself next week and the rest of the stuff will come later. My son is two so if anyone else with young children was wondering, thats the reason for the delay.

Thanks for that, I was going to ring the club about that very thing. My 2.5 year old hadn't received his yet, they must be pretty special teddies :D

Sure must be...lol.
She didn't say which thing exactly was holding it up, but its been quite a while. Pretty hard on little kids. My son is 2.5 too. He has already pinched the drink bottle from his older brother.

Has anyone bought tickets yet? Its looks to be quite a rectangular shaped sitting area if you look at the plan. I know the cheer squad is in bay 142, but I wonder what wing the Saints supporters will be sitting on. Anyone know?

this is only from watching games at ANZ on TV, so dont believe this...but im pretty sure some supporters are put in approx bay 117 near/next to the swans cheer squad, and others around the 50m line in about bay 123.
so if i am correct, they would have the same idea as the Gabba, we get 3 bays, and they make sure they are all far away from each other so there is as little noise from us as possible.

Update on this.
I called the club today as I hadn't heard back after my phonecall last week (as above). The girl looked up my membership number, and said, yep, 4 tickets have been put aside for you as requested. I said, oh great, how do I pay for them, credit card etc (i had it out ready to pay over the phone), and she said no, they are free because you are a member. THey have put aside some tickets out of their allocation for travelling members. She couldn't tell me where they were, as the don't actually have them yet. She said they only come out the week before the game,. I confirmed when they would come out, she said on the monday or tuesday before the game I should get them (I was concerned if I would get them in time as we are driving up and leaving on the Thursday). She said they will come out in time.
Very strange. I'm very happy but almost don't believe it to be true. At least being at ANZ I shouldn't have any probs getting a ticket if the ones from the club fall through, but if it works out as described I will be very happy. Just thought I'd post for the benefit of anyone else travelling...worth a try.

I rang the club about this again today. While I'm grateful for the tickets, I'm concerned I won't get them in time, so I wanted to go in on Monday and pick them up. Apparently they won't be posted from there, so I can't. They couldn't tell me when they would come. I explained that I haven't bought tickets because they have told me they have them for me, but as I am leaving on THursday 6am, if they don't arrive by Wednesday I won't have them. Given that for the first few mins of my converstaion today they guy thought I was talking about membership tickets, not the Sydney game, you can understand why I'm not convinced that will things will happen as they say they will. I'm more than happy to go in and get them...what is the point of them arriving at my house on Friday when I'm in Sydney
In the end he said to wait and see if they come by Wednesday. If they don't arrive in time, he said to give them a call on Thursday, which I can do from on the road, and they will cancel the ones sent to me, and leave me a set at the gate....
Wish me luck that it all works out. Worst case I will have to buy them when I get there, which is what I intended to do all along. But who's going to knock back club ones if they are offering them...just its hard to get hold of them....
Anyway, not like it will be a full house, so worst case I'll buy them at the ground.

Those are good odds
Hope you're luck holds out this time. My only ever trip before this one was to the "sirengate" game in Tassie - can't remember if it was 05 or 06. Memorable for all the wrong reasons. So it would be good to get a win this time...my first interstate win....

Well, thought I would update on what ended up happening with the tickets.
THey never arrived, as I thought would happen, but they had saved them for me. When I rang on Thursday from the road to check, they said they would ring back first thing Friday, which they did. They left the tickets at a particular gate for me to pick up. Unfortunately this was where heaps of swans supporters were picking up their reserve seats or something too...there were about 150 people in the line and we were running late. I managed to convince the lady working the line to get them for me seeing as they were saints ones and only a few there...lucky for me she did so I didn't have to wait in the line. As it was we missed the first two or three minutes. They only let you go in your exact gate and we walked around the wrong way and ended up walking all the way around the ground.
The tickets were fantastic...right behind the cheersquad in bay 141, row 14. The was noone to one side of us, and two sydney supporters behind us but no one right around them, so not too bad for my two year old. I was a bit worried it might be a bit too loud for him, but by the last quarter he was yelling out "GO Saints" in a very feral voice...must have been following me. He is so infatuated with Rooey at the moment, so when we were kicking to the cheer squad end he could see him quite well and was very happy.
So my first interstate win...very happy with that.
Very grateful for the club for giving me the tickets for free. I never asked for them...I only phoned to see how to go about buying some in the saints area, but was very grateful to be offered them....and great seats they were too. These tickets were showing up as sold when I tried to by them about 6 weeks ago or more, yet the bay wasn't full....strange.
I intend to send the club an email over the weekend just to thank them for the tickets....its great that they are able to help out...you feel valued I suppose, so I will do the right thing and send a thankyou email. We made a little family holiday of the Sydney trip so the money I saved on the tickets went to spending for the kids.
Have tired to attach some photos I took on the night....
