Our most under-rated player?
I think it used to be Max. Now that Max is gone, I'd say Lenny. He turned 30 this year and it's really only now that he is finally regarded as one of the best inside-mids of the competition.
Thoughts?

Reckon if you asked two years ago I'd agree but after last year the Len Dog is pretty much universally classed as elite level I'd say...
C Jones for mine, a long neck to Dawson and McQualter. Raph Clarke pipped fro a place.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

For mine, the most underrated player at the club is Baker.
He has an enormous impact in terms of lifting the overall commitment, courage and competitiveness of the side.
I also agree that Raph is underrated: he does make some dramatic mistakes, but that is partly because he is prepared to pick up or receive the ball in the most difficult situations and move it out of the backline. He played a crucial role in the second half of the PF against the Dogs, after being crunched earlier on.
I reckon CJ and McQualter are currently given the appropriate amount of recognition by fans and in the media. They've both done very well in the last 12 months to establish themselves as players of genuine AFL quality. But let's not get carried away. The same goes for Blake.
Every club has its honest toilers like these three: truly deserving of every $ they earn, but not "points of difference" (to use Lyon's excellent description of BJ).

CJ was voted #50 in Sheahan's top 50 so he is getting noticed a bit.
Hard to say when you're coming off a year when every player was praised.
I agreee with those who said two years ago it was Lenny. Nowadays it's hard to pick who is underrated.
I reckon Armitage is underrated internally but I guess that's a separate argument.

25 minutes to make a name for yourself like you've never made before.
Good point that.#1GILL wrote:Baker by a fair margin.
To keep Davis, Aker and Johnson quiet in one year is a fantastic effort. But to do it in one finals series and receive barely any recognition from the media or the football supporting community shows how under rated he is.
And he's very much a Saints man is our Bakes.

Shattered dreams are just opportunities for improvement. Live and learn, fail and try harder. 2011 beckons.
