I'm not sure how Sheahan knows what Ball is getting and what he was offered so I really have to think is just another heap of crap by him.

BALLS
The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.
If you are not engaging AI actively and aggressively, you are doing it wrong.
You are not going to lose your job to AI.
You are going lose your job to somebody who uses AI.
Your company is not going to go out of business because of AI.
Your company is going to go out of business because another company used AI.

As I remember, Luke Ball WAS in the best 22 on the most important day last year. No doubt, he was not thought of as being in the best 10. If he has gone to Collingwood so that he can be, why not go to Melbourne where his ranking could be even better.
If we being asked to believe that he went to Collingwood on less money than he was offered at St Kilda, then we had better start believing in the Easter Bunny.
My guess is that he was disappointed at not being offered an automatic game, was a bit disgruntled at criticism of how hard he worked off the ball, had always barracked for Collingwood and didn't like dropping a couple of hundred grand in pay, then again, who would?
The strange thing about this story is that it is contrary to other media "opinion" that said that Luke left because he was NOT offered a contract. And this was the reason that Nick spoke out. And good on him. If any of the younger players needed the extra spur to lift this year, Nick's leadership on this issue might just be it.

Mike Sheahan always hated St Kilda - Never rated Locket highly enough , Harvey was always underrated becuase Mike the great footballer he was determined he did not kick enough goals ( no consideration for goal assists to Lockett, Loewe Gehrig Roo) and last year jumped on and then jumped off again.
Picked Collingwood, geelong , WB , HAw and Stkildaall to win the flag last year.
Changes his mind more than the weather and should join the other fossil on SEN 9am and go away
Never let the facts get in the way of his story.

That piece reeks of Sheahan getting his knickers in a twist because someone in St K Media and Comms either didn't get back to him with a quote or suggested that perhaps there are more interesting things to discuss than a player who left.
"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'
What about the $500k he put on his head in the draft. Are Collingwood not paying that then? Are they not then guilty of draft tampering? I am still perplexed at all the articles pre-draft how Melbourne, Brisbane, Port all said they would pick up Ball if they could, then he glides through to Collingwood? Does Ed Job really have that much power?

Not at all imo.jack wrote:I think Mr. Sheehan has been told by Collingwood to write this story or he would not get any Collingwood player interviews this season.
Or am I being to Cynical.
Most journos have an alterior motive or a bias behind their articles.
Considering Collingwood have the largest following in the country it would be bad for business to bag the Pies in any way...
While I can't stand Caro at least she calls a spade a spade regardless of who it might upset.
Anyway does anyone really expect any sort of journalistic integrity from the HS, it is really only a glossy cover away from being New Idea...

i reckon Ball is being paid the $500K.plugger66 wrote:You dont have to. You have to put it in the salary cap though. Been going on for years.bigcarl wrote:very good point. Eddie is just telling him to put it out there he's being paid less to save embarrassment when Ball is not in their top 10 performers this season.
The Magpies would find it hard to justify paying a good, solid player that sort of money.

So plugger, collingwood have capped him at $500gs but are paying him less....
maybe you do not have to but i'm sure room in the cap means more to them than actually paying it....
