Post: # 873351Post sainterinsydney »

Here is a Jesse Smith article from the Herald Sun: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/l ... 5821249693
At least this article is giving us something to be hopeful about!

Thanks for that :D

A timely reminder in among all the talk of our drafting woes.... if we get this bloke right he could be anything...touted as a first rounder or even Top 10 if he wasnt father/son...and we got him for Pick 60 8-)

There is no point rushing the guy back. I think we should be patient with him.

I have never noticed Jesse Smith on the playing field. If he is anywhere near as good as his Dad he will be an excellent pick-up.

30 odd possessions in a prelim final as a 19 yo, I would say he has some ability

and he looked good in that game... but i really hope the recruiters saw something more than 1 good game.

obviously they knew he'd be a longer term prospect... but doesn't hindsight put a lot more pressure on the use of this trade.

there was an article when we recruited him that mission and co will need to alter his running movement by about 2 degrees if i remember correctly....so first of all he will need to learn how to walk a certain way before he is able to jog/run so that the new running movement that he is going to have will work and wont cause hamstring issues like in the past....

If he can get back by mid-year, look out. Another solid backman frees up even more options.

Go Jesse!

The structural change in his walk means rehabilitation - relearning, flexibility, strengthen under used muscles. What's the point in running if you're not doing it how you need to be. Once he has changed this - and this will take time - then you start the running work. 2010 will be a rebuild year but if it works he'll be an excellent addition for 2011. Anything better than this will be a miracle.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.
