"Another storied win in Robert Harvey's career. They say he is the embodiment of their motto of strength through loyalty, and on the day he became just the tenth man to play 350 league games the saints reward him with a seemingly impossible victory."

Happy birthday for Tuesday, StFid. You share the day with my husband. We have never had the chance to go to training before but we are both on holidays next week. We have some things organised with people who want to see him for his birthday, but now we are trying to get out of them and hope to go to training instead!St Fidelius wrote:Thanks for the notification, I hope to be there (it's my birthday on the 19th)saintdooley wrote:St Kilda Football Club Our first open training session for 2010 will be held on Tuesday January 19th from 10:00am at Linen House Oval, Moorabbin - NOT Friday as previously advertised. Shattered dreams are just opportunities for improvement. Live and learn, fail and try harder. 2011 beckons.

BTW, I have a new respect for those of you that live in Geelong. Just returned from a couple of weeks down that way, and I cannot believe the amount of Cats stuff everywhere. I mean, every second shop has "go cats" still on the window, people still have it on their houses and letterboxes.
I can only imagine how awful it was after the grand final
Not to mention the fact they are very smug

Geelong is practically an entire town of cats supporters, we are not talking random decorations every couple of suburbs here.
It's very overwhelming, as are your smug remarks TBH

Actually, apart from the flags & posters everywhere it wasn't too bad. Certainly not as bad as I imagined it would be (having moved down here mid season & therefore not having experienced the 07 flag here in Bay City)Bernard Shakey wrote:What! Thankfully I was in Qld on holidays when they won in '07, although we had plenty of phone calls, txts etc from midway through that game into the small hours of the night to make sure we knew all about it!Dr Spaceman wrote:

I think celebrations were a bit more subdued this time round. Probably because they knew they didn't deserve to win it.......

So, when we win the Premiership this year there won't be the same display that Geelong were able to put on?SainterK wrote:Of course we would, and I don't know why I need to explain this to you or why I am actually bothering.Bernard Shakey wrote:What! there will be the same celebrations, posters, baloons etc... if we win it, but not in a small town (eg: Geelong) it would be spread out across melbourne if we win, harder to find, but still out there somewhere.

Don't bother, the poster has very limited ability in absorbing for than two words at a time, the only ability the poster has is just grabbing a couple of them and make his own message....saintdooley wrote:

Again, don't even try.....
