Unproven allegations at this stage ... an indefinite suspension until a police investigation has been conducted is the correct thing to do ...

However, we should wait until we see the results of the investigation

I was and still am hopeful of seeing Lovett blitzing for us with his pace and skill, just what we need,

I hope this is a beat up, because it's so disappointing otherwise!

I also hope he is given another chance either way!

Given Lovett's history it wouldn't surprise if there's a "domestic" angle to this and what actually happened may not be the same as what is originally alleged. That's probably the only way this can end well for us.

Having said that it's extremely disappointing he's even putting himself in this position. He's been traded off to a stronger team, with the realisation that if he fails his career's almost certainly over and if that was me I'd be trying to be squeaky clean.

So even if it somehow turns out he's done nothing wrong he is nonetheless putting his hand up for the position of Centre Half Wit!
