What is our annual profit ?
I know the AGM is not till January.
But the accounts would surely be finalised and audited by now.
Most of the other clubs have announced theirs.
Any whispers?

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

I think it was mentioned a while back that at best we would make a very small profit.Enrico_Misso wrote:I know the AGM is not till January.

A good accountant always asks "How much profit do you want there to be".
AND then arranges the accounts to show that amount.

The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

I would be expecting a small profit?
We increased our football department spending, spent a lot of money on finals functions and advertising, and paying the players, staff and coaches incentives for making the Grand Final, along with paying 100% of the salary cap, spending money establishing construction at Seaford and no doubt we are still paying Grant Thomas out for something ...
An extra $1m per year next year from Etihad will make it a lot easier for us, although I still wouldn't mind some alternative revenue sources.
Hopefully we get a membership increase next year (and win the flag)

Spot on chook, hawthorns and essondons success in the 70`s and 80`s gives them a much larger base asthey pick up all th young fans who have not really got a club at thta time. Out lack of success in those times is hurting now as far as members numbers go.chook23 wrote:Maybe all the premierships in 70's and 80's helped convince kids to followlinz wrote:I can't understand why clubs like Hawthorn are now looking at 50000 + members and yet we are still around the 30K mark despite making the GF last year. Given the amount of Friday nite games , healthy attendances , membership numbers up (should be way better) lack of cost at current crap facilities (linton st ) you would think that we should have a reasonable operating profit ,, hopefully though , the club spent money at Seaford ,, but i shudder to think that in 3 years time there'll be an uproar because the club is hugely in debt because of the move and the lack of capitalization of winnings ,,
What will be next from this club ?
