The club can pay out their contracts in 2009 if they have room in the salary cap.
However if no room exists they need to be paid out in 2010.
To do that, they need to be listed.

Yeah disappointing FISHER ...
I agree he must have signed 3 year contract about the time he was playing seniors - wow what a list clogger. He might think he is still a chance but the game is way to fast for him now.
Who ever signed him on this contract needs a major rocket!

From another thread (the controversial cutting of Matt Maguire) - somebody needs their head checked over the re-signing of Fisher at the end of 2008.
Need an answer, Saints...

That doesn't make any sense. Next year he turns 26.
I'm not making this stuff up, it's all here: http://stats.rleague.com/afl/stats/play ... isher.html
Can someone clarify how we gave Leigh Fisher a two-year deal after his 2008 season?
I mean, when you talk about list mangement, it's not exactly prudent, is it? Particularly on a day when the club has squeezed out a favourite son who still had plenty to offer.
Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

I though I heard in preseaon last year that he was fitter, trimmer and faster than before -- in top 2 or 3 around the tan -- and was looking to getting back in the firsts as a running in-and-under / tagger. It seemed to me that McQualter took his place, and never looked back -- sadly for Leigh.marksnsparks wrote:That was my memory of him too. Thought he was a decent player. He might still be only one injury away from a role in the seniors.

Fisher never seemed to be the same after those horrendous hamstring injuries.
As a Saints rookie, will he be playing at Sandringham, or have the Club just used the Rookie listing as a convenient loophole and told him to play elsewhere. I can see him as being a good experienced player for Sandy, something they may need with the departure of a number of their experienced players.

i dont think the Saints have any hold on him at all so he is free to play anywhere he likes.Mr Magic wrote:Fisher never seemed to be the same after those horrendous hamstring injuries.
