Is $90.00 too much for a "lightweight hoodie"

Post: # 863642Post saint66au »

Was browsing the merch catalogue that came with my membership stuff. Took a fancy to that "Saints" red hoodie in the leisurewear section...but $90.00?? and its 'lightweight"?

Is that a bit over the odds fashionistas or should I get into the real world and stop clothes shopping at Best and Less?

$100 for the heavyweight one...and it only comes in green

I was thinking the same thing with most of the products. definatley on the pricey side.. and i don't even shop at best and less!

Best to wait for end of season sales when they're more reasonable prices.

had a quick look for 'brand ' names which is what these should be looked at as
and you can range from $59/60 to $119/$120

The lifestyle range is actually really well designed' I'm impressed! compared to previous years these are way nicer - i suppose the price is indicative of this change...

Wonder what the profit margin is on these, the club is probably losing a lot of sales with that price.

Maybe its made in Australia and we are just used to buying clothes at asian manufacturing costs.

As long as the quality is there... $90 for a really good one is surely better than $60 for a piece of crap.

But it's the first time I've seen the NAB cup strip...

Looks like the work experience kid at ISC had the plans sideways when he stitched them together.

This years (09) designs were better I thought, and a fraction cheaper for memory. Anyhow will probably go the tracksuit top again.
The tracksuit pants at $80 are a disgrace, but I'll probably still buy them..

That guernsey says "f--k off, I'm St.Kilda" which I can deal with during pre-season.

See you at the flodge, Cowboy!

I like it too. Not that I'll be buying one....but it's quite striking and I like the fact that the club logo is the big focus .

Also like the red hoody...might buy one of them for my 14 year old who will turn 15 during the early part of the season. Maybe there will be a special before then.

Seriously though...the price is in line with other similar brand name clothes. Mum bought him a fantastic black Rip Curl hoody this year - first time we'd bought one in men's sizes. It Looks great under his footy jumper cos it is black with red and white trim with ripcul written hundreds of times in small writing in the hood. Looks great under his saints jumper and keeps him warm. Was definately worth the $90 we paid for it. If the new saints ones are a reasonable quality then they will be worth it.
Plus...we get a discount based on our years of membership remember so my gold membership (10-19 years) should give me 15% off that price....making it $76.50. Could be more or less for others depending on your years of membership. Says on page 7 of the membership brochure that this applies to full price items purchased in the shop, on match day or on the phone or at other saints events.

I fear I may be at the Flodge as my wife's antifoxtel crusade stretches into the new decade but... for the love of fashion.

1. There's no sign of our heritage acid wash logo.
2. There's no sign of our heritage yellow. Anywhere.
3. there's no stylized angry saint man on the front.

90 bucks for a hoodie is f****** disgusting

this is why i buy LAST years stuff off ebay
'oh but no money to club'
thats right
i dont feel like paying 90 bucks for a 15 buck jumper
im stupid enough to pay 50 or 60 but not dumb enough to pay 90

this year ill go the media polo long sleeve (hopefully) and the usual cap and beanie.
thatll do me
havent even seen the catalogue yet, ill wait till the postie gets here :)

Rang the club store yesterday and the NAB guernseys aren't in yet. Pity, because we wanted to buy it and get it delievered here for Christmas.

For those of us who don't live in Melbourne, what kind of Saints things does Best and Less have?
