I will answer that and only because I know the answer. You are thinking of Jonno Nash.

Yep...you're right Plugger....Johnno Nash played for Sandy this year...I saw him and Tom Lynch going through a list of instructions before the Box Hill game...Nash won the Sandringham Dragons B & F this year

With St Kilda's list at the moment.....most probably not...but he's a pretty capable backman....

I guess people were thinking the same thing about Zac Dawson....and he certainly proved a lot of people wrong...

I'd love to see Will Johnson get a game with the saints....I'm sure he'll get a run in the NAB cup...but for round 1 2010...I highly doubt it...

But more than happy to be proved wrong

At least Sandy wont lose a player to another aligned VFL club.

So Johnson isnt Will's father because they are spelt differently but he is Marc Johnston's father. makes plenty of sense.

did not get a single vote in the sandy b & f. we should have rookied him. how can he be ahead of tom simpkin?

and for the record. zac was tearing it up at vfl last year. the story is the saints watched him 3 weeks in a row.

week 1 - kicked 8 at full forward
week 2 - played Fullback and dominated
week 3 - got 27 possies on a wing

so Zac was clearly a stand out at VFL level and very versatile, tall and athletic and a good kick. so saints were sold on Zac after those weeks.

I agree we should have rookied him He was not a pick many were expecting and probably would have lasted too our rookie picks. But for the record he got 6 votes according to the pic in the Tom Simpkin thread. Imo we also took Winmar too early as most had him going at around 45-65 in phantom drafts.

It seems we probably stuffed up again. Surely we should be able to do our picks after every other club does there's so we can guarantee we get all our picks at exactly the right price.

agreed P66...

To suggest that we took Winmar too early and that "most" had him going for around 45 - 65 is harsh.

It appears that the Club wanted Winmar and if they gambled on their next pick he would almost certainly would have gone to an other Club before our next pick @ 60.

Have some faith

Maybe we were looking for a replacement for Brad Howard and Winmar has got the gig....

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

I don't think Winmar is a bad player or anything and i'm happy we got him. He has real potential and obviously we rate him higher than most. But imo at our pick their were better players available.

Well i rate Reid, Vardy, Craig and possibly Christensen & Fitzpatrick. Admittedly none of these players are that similar to Winmar though so i can see the clubs reasoning.

And by see play do you mean personally see?
