Our last 2 crops of youngsters are a year older, armo and steven have enough exeperience to make the next step. We have upgraded from ball to lovett and lost a couple of B grades injured players to B grade players.
Unless our squad fall in an injury heap it will be very similar to last years team that finished top.

Why? Did you watch footy this year?
Players who are gone that played this year!!- Luke Ball, Max Hudghton, one retired and one scum
Traded 1 player and delisted another that are injury riddled and didnt play a game in X and Maguire ( so what did we lose here)
Others gone, L Fisher (0 games) E Connors (0 games) C Begley (1 game)
Plus 4 rookies
We then get- Lovett, on his day is fantastic and will continue under a great coach, Peake shows promise and has speed
Jesse Smith has some question marks over his fitness but we all know he is capable of being one of the most dominant players if he can
Pattison- we are very short on ruckmen (excuse pun) so he adds depth, if King and Gardi go down then we only have McEvoy and Stanley or we have to throw Kosi which messes our fwds structure
Tommy Walsh- we know he is the irish equivlalent of Franklin (lets hope he prove this)
Plus a defender that can play next year and Nick Winmar, someone who is a great kick
Where are we behind? we are miles in front... we have topped up to get a flag in a weak draft.. why get kids when they may not be any good, at least we know where Smith and Pattison are
Great recruiting year under the circumstances- yeah Ball was a good player, but he really did cost a lot for what he offered to the club and hasnt been the same for 3 years

Assuming we take another five young rookies on 0 games, here's the demographics compared for 2010 compared to 2009.
Age at start of season:
< 20: 15 (14)
20-22: 5 (5)
22-24: 7 (9)
24-26: 6 (10) ***
26-28: 9 (3) ***
28-30: 2 (5)
30+: 4 (2)
The main difference is that the players who were in the 24-26 bracket are now in the 26-28 bracket. 22-28 is the prime of most players' careers, so for these guys the clock is rapidly ticking towards twilight.
But last year the big lump was 22-26, this year it's 22-28. We've replenished the bottom end of that large bracket where players are at their best. So from this point of view the numbers look good.
Games played:
0-9 games: 18 (17)
10-49 games: 7 (10)
50-99 games: 8 (7)
100-149 games: 7 (8)
150-200 games: 6 (4)
200+ games: 2 (2)
Not much of a change here. We have fewer players in the 10-49 bracket, so we're really looking for players to push into that hole from the big 0-9 group. Jack Steven, obviously. Miles is on his last chance. Lynch is the other most likely.

The club has until 2PM 1 December to pre-select them ahead of the rookie draft.
The club has to decide whether their talent is greater than their cost - salary and overheads.
The same date applies to David Moran (Irish lad training with the Saints)although he would be pre-selected into a normal rookie slot, whereas the scholarship boys would fill additional slots reserved only for former scholarship holders.
So far all clubs have only pre-selected 4 former NSW scholarship holders ahead of this year's rookie draft.
But all clubs have until Tuesday to decide.
All clubs make their final delistings by Wednesday's List Lodgement No3.
