What's with all the soft porn in people's avatars?

Why do I have it thrust in my face every time I log in to Saintsational?
We are not fostering a very family friendly atmosphere here.

I agree totally , this is a forum about football .
Think about it this way how would you like to log on and see a picture of your daughter or sister shown in this way.
Personally I don't think it is necesary or a good example to young people to portray women in this manner.
Being the mother of three teenage daughters I think as a society we need more positive images of women out there.

GREAT THREAD LONG OVERDUE.
If I'm ever going to get in trouble at work re: Saintsational, I'd like it to be because I am not giving my full productivity to my employer, not because some idiot has a stupid avatar that Human freakin Resources disapproves of.
If you want to show everyone how open minded and liberated you are, there are plenty of places on the internet for that.

Let's quash all this individuality and make everyone conform.

What a crock. You're not being an individual, you're being a jerk. Utterly insensitive to the fact that tits-and-ass avatars make many posters on this site uncomfortable.
It's like walking into an old-time Front Bar, or a workshop with walls covered in naked girls. It says: this space is for the blokes, so piss off whiny sheilas, piss off little kids.
They will not grow old, as those from more northern States grow old.
For them it will always be three-quarter-time, with the scores level
and the wind advantage in the final term.

two sides
i certainly wouldn't want my 11 year old son or 13 year old daughter to see some of the avatars - but then i wouldn't think this site appropriate for them anyway.
some avatars - sensaintsational, raven, the sincity dancer - are classy (well raven's isn't but it stirs something in me?).
Others (the two blonde bimbos, and that now extinct horrid chick on the bed with legs spread and knickers showing) lack any class - but that's just mo.
maybe a warning on signing up - not appropriate for u/16?
mind you then some might feel there's carte blanche and god knows what'd come.
as for chicks and sports - kinda go well together - i feel less guilty now buying sports illustrated, but i miss the chick shots!

My god.... what is this rubbish about its a football forum. So what if it was a rugby forum would it be different because they have cheerleaders...
I am guesisng some of you wouldn't watch a rugby game because its exposing women in a derogatory manor.
Grid girl, cheerleaders or promo girls know what they are in for when they take on these kind of roles. They know pictures will be taken and end up on 1000's of mens computers.
Just don't move to Brisbane, you have meter girls in bikinis which kids see everyday and with that don't ever go to the beach again...
This thread is so unnecessary

It's not up to you to decide. Your argument is illogical nonsense and you don't speak for me as a woman. And interestingly you don't seem to have a problem with the avatar in the post above your one. I don't disagree with your arguments for the most part, but you have to go both ways.sainterjo wrote:It's not up to you to decide. If you don't like the scantily clad women, then it must be the same for the male version.
I wouldn't have a look in the general forum JLH thread if I were you. What with this thread and your anger to Luke Ball, you'll blow a complete gasket.
Cheers.

I did pop over to the General forum, but only got as far as the Climategate thread. Mindboggling ignorance outranks a narmus set o' titties, every day of the week.
