If a Player remains bound to a Club by reason of Rule 2.8.2, the Club

Going by that I Ball has been delisted - as he was able to nominate for the draft.
is how I read it....
same applies for both.

Luke Ball and Matt Maguire's name have now been removed from the table.
Tommy Walsh has not been added to the rookie table but then he does not become official until his name is called on 15 December 2009.

So Zac sits at the selection table does he?borderbarry wrote:I would not reward Dawson with Max's number. After all, he kept him out of the finals (I still dispute that decision). Give him a lower number, but not Max's. Maybe 6.
What a silly comment, I am tiring of the lack of support for some of our younger players.
Can't you find a balance between honouring the veterans, and getting excited about our future stars?

Its a friggin number. Does the previous player own it? I could just about bet max will not give a stuff if Zac gets it. He isnt even at the Saints anymore to even ask him. He is now the enemy.borderbarry wrote:I cant see why Zac should have 8. I agree he should have a lower number than he had last season, but not 8. Give him 6, Bob Murray's old number. Bob was a top Full back. I just feel that it would not be right to give Zac Max's number, unless Max OK'd it.

I can see where you're coming from BB.
Not sure where I stand at this stage, it would be good to have a full back wears number 8 tradition.
As for them being just numbers I could not disagree more, they mean a lot more. I couldn't imagine how proud I would be if I played for St Kilda and Harvey recommended me to take the great number 35...

Totally disagree.
Its a team sport (In the words of Tim Watson) - Dish the numbers out. All the numbers.
Yeh, be smart about it - Give them to players that have the potential to play 150 games in them....But hell not many do, so its a risk.
I dont believe in retiring numbers. In fact I hate it!

Number 14 must be burnt.
Lockett first wore number 14, got a groin injury and turned traitor for money.
Ball wore number 14, got a groin injury and turned traitor for money.
