Don't know if it was 2000, but I remember the smell of the "turf" at Colonial and inadvertently humming the song of every team that beat us as I walked up Latrobe Street after the games.

We also discussed whether Tony Delaney and Mark Gale and Justin Plapp were going to take us to a premiership.

Remember turning up to our reserved seats on Level 1 in Round 1 and one of them didn't exist. They had sold them "off the plan" and a whole lot of people didn't have a physical seat. So we were put on Level 2 for Round 1 and then got moved to the Docklands wing the week after. Then got moved back the week after that.

- How excited I was when we finally won our first game against Port and again when we knocked off the Cats.

- Feeling exactly the same as Maxy after the Bulldogs game and not talking to anyone at all on the way home from Colonial Stadium.

- The excitement around the place as we first hunted then landed Malcolm Blight's signature

the bulldogs match, one of only three times I have cried at a match.... just curled up in a ball and cried. Wondered when the next win was coming from....

The american styled spotlight and announcement of each player as they entered the arena. Works in basketball because they don't have far to run and there aren't many players to go through. We were laughing half way through.
