Yeah that was a preliminary schedule. Have spoken to clubs involved....will look something like this

1:30pm - Saints vs Blues
2:20pm - Dees vs Pies
3:10pm - Battle of 2 defeated sides
4:00pm - Battle of 2 winning sides
4:45pm - Barbeque.

FORMAT AND TIMES HAVE CHANGED, but now set in concrete...
exhaustive negotiations this weekend, and you would have been proud of hd, I gave in on every point...

Date : Sunday, November 8...
Time : 1.00pm - please turn up at 12.30pm...
Venue : Victoria Park, Collingwood ...
Format : each game 2 X 20 minute halves
1.00 pm - saints v blues
1.50pm - dees v pies
2.40pm - losers play
3.30pm - winners play
4.20pm - bbq/social
We need helpers to bring extra water, players to bring sunscreen, water, extra jumpers, extra footy boots...

one of our players has two mates (pretty good players he says) who are kangaroos supporters, and who have asked to play with us...

we've said no (because of our numbers) and they want to know if they can play for you guys...

let me know by phone, and we can organise for them to contact you...

We generally have a saints fans only policy. Not sure what other clubs are in regards to mates who support other clubs etc.

But if one of the teams is short then I don't see a problem with it in that circumstance. I think our numbers are ok though.

I have traded the two kangas supporters to talkingcarlton for a free beer and a draft pick...

hope these two (aparently VERY handy players) don't tip the balance in your game against the blues...

after all, they wanted to play with you guys before talkingcarlton...

btw, we are trimming our list by getting rid of our best players, in the spirit of this event, and to give all other forums a chance for glory...

Will have to ask our good hosts at Victoria Park? They were generous last year with bar facilities and a barbeque etc lol. Maybe they can extend the courtesy a bit further:-P

We dees from demonland and demonology have organised an after-match get together at The Park Hotel, 191 Nicholson Street, Abbotsfordâ€¦

This is to follow on after any bbq or whatever at the ground so as not to interfere with other forumsâ€™ plansâ€¦

Hope as many posters from here can make it for a drink and a chatâ€¦

This event is coming together really wellâ€¦

There are always a few people in every team who suffer from white-line fever, but the umpires will have the power to order players off the field for dissention, fighting, shirt-fronts, and over-aggressive tackles that may be OK in competitive footy matches but donâ€™t belong in social gamesâ€¦

Proposing for a slight switch in order.

Dees vs Pies at 1pm
Saints vs Blues at 1:50pm

We have a few players not arriving until right on 1 which means we would struggle to field a full side at 1pm.

I was so looking forward to playing. It must have been horrendous in the heat. Hopefully once I have finished my treatment, I will be fighting fit for the next game.
